Why is it that every good player should suddenly become a Barca player?

Mata is playing at his best in a free-roaming attacking role for Chelsea where he is the spark of the attack and a focal point of the team. At Barca he'd just get shunned to the RW where he can't impose any of his creativity and would have to play 2nd fiddle to Messi. He's best as a top dog, and at Barca he definitely wouldn't get that. It's wrong to assume that forcibly creating a "dream attack" by shoving in 3 star individuals would lead to any success. The players need to be able to correctly complement each other and work together by adding what the other lacks. Messi+Mata would not be complementary at all, they'd just get in each others way.

Mata is probably 70% as effective at best(which is still better than a lot of players, mind you) when shoved to the right wing to be honest, the role he has with Chelsea is what brings the best out of him.

A 70% effective Mata is still miles better than Pedro though.

(Still doesn't mean we should get him, there are other areas we should focus on. But the idea of keeping Pedro at the club for his entire career is frightening...)

:goodpost:
I like Mata, but he would not be allowed to perform the same role at Chelsea that he would for Barca.

We are not Chelsea, who stockpile players and send them all out on loan. We are fully covered in his position. There is no room for him at Barca.

20 goals +30 assists for us this season. :worthy: Now way we would sell him.

If it were up to me, I would buy Cavani and put out the following team:

--------------------- Cavani ---------------------------

---Hazard----------- Mata ------------De Bruyne-------

--------------------Oscar------------------------------
------------Ramires/DM--------------------------------

------Cole ------ Luiz/Terry- ---- Ivanovic -------Azp-

-------------------Cech/Courtois ------------------

I think De Bruyne is more than ready and will exceed people's expectations!
