So Mourinho didn't want Ba to go on loan to Arsenal, but giving Mata to Utd is fine? I could only see this happening with Rooney going the other way, which would strenghten Chelsea more than Utd.
Mata to United is looking promising now, and it's more than just all the usual BS ITK's pressing on with this now. Would not only be a class player for us, but would also give everyone a big lift.
Still not getting too carried away though.
Tbh, the Sky Sports expert reporting about this and Mata's being "keen" to join United is Balague.
...
Still might happen though.
Would be clever by Mourinho, strengthening United to take points off of Arsenal, City or Liverpool while Chelsea already played them twice. Then again, Mata could still be a useful back up for Chelsea in case of injury crisis.

according to Telegraph Atlético Madrid are hoping to hijack Manchester United's attempts to sign Juan Mata by offering David Moyes first option on striker Diego Costa and Brazilian full-back Filipe Luis if he withdraws from the race for the Chelsea midfielder. Wouldn't it be more simpler to offer Costa to chelsea in exchange for mata....
Why would he sign for a sinking ship? I know he needs to play but a permanent move to United isn't the best option at the moment.
But with Rooney and Van Persie ready to come back, the current game plan won't suit them all with Mata. Unless Moyes would use his brain and try 4-3-2-1, one of Mata and Rooney will be wasted with a wide position.

In the summer 2/3 players will be signed, and they'll be in the mix of things again.
It's not the usual United Wide players that we've known over the last 20 years - but this isn't Fergies United, it's Moyes', and he's whilst he was at Everton, he tinkered with wide men for a long time, using players like Bilyaletdinov, Pienaar, van der Meyde, Gueye and Mirallas in those positions, who were never natural wingers. More "attacking midfielders played out wide", cutting inwards to pile the Central area full of players.
Mata going to United is only a bonus for United. Chelsea gain nothing. They don't need the money, they have Roman bankrolling everything. It's so strange, I literally can't believe it.
So true!
Yeah, and the more I seriously think about it, the more I think it's just not going to happen. Would be ridiculous of Chelsea to sell him, nevermind to us.
Still, one signing wouldn't really fix United's problems. You could argue that it would have the Ozil effect in terms of confidence boost, but central midfield and defence also need further strengthening. Then there's also Moyes. Is he able to manage world-class players, and do those players believe he is? And will he be able to find a system where everybody fits in? They'd need to adapt their playing style a bit, not just in terms of formation. Then what if Rooney leaves next season and United fail to complete any big signings, because honestly, I don't believe Gündogan, Reus, Koke, Cavani or whoever else is among their targets are really dying to get to United atm. That they'll qualify for CL football is by no means guaranteed either. Liverpool, Everton and even Tottenham will not simply bend over.lol United don't just crumble over night.
They've have a terrible start BY THEIR STANDARDS. But they could easily get back in the mix if they go on a decent run. Wait till Rooney and Van P are back.
