Dont see him working in a heavy-possesion based team tbf, lacks creativity to be a playmaker and is too direct to be a controller, he's a beast of a box-to-box tho, a move to a big PL club or even Madrid to replace Fede (he pretty much has that role but Jude ceiling is WAY higher) is the obvious next step.

Valverde has been at his best at RW for Real.

Has never nailed down a CM place really.

His main attributes are pace and striking a ball. Not really so far been a great CM in terms of controlling game etc but maybe settles there when Kroos/Modric move on.

Madrid already have Camavinga/Tchouameni/Valverde, of which none have managed to hold down a role in midfield, now they are paying huge money for another one? Idk.

Seems like they are focusing on their strongest area of the pitch when defense and attack been far more problematic.

if you take out modric and kross from the starting 11, it's not that clear. tchouameni + bellingham + camavinga/valverde sounds good. don't know how well they would perform though.

True. Plus I think they’re both leaving next year so gives Bellingham a season to settle in before the expectations ramp up.

Going for Belligham makes 0 sporting sense.
They have a lot of players there, but even more than that his skillset doesn't fit
Imagine a future md of Tchoameni/Camaviga-Belligham-Valverde
No one knowing how to play a through ball

Any case I am happy they are spending big, and next summer they will spend big again on Mbape, while missing much cheaper quality targets that can plug the holes they have in their squad
