Kylian Mbappé

I’ll go back and look again, but I’m confident Barca we’re in for him(why wouldn’t you be?), and he declined.

Lol did you just say the Ballon D'or is bigger than the World Cup? That’s one of the most absurdly ridiculous things I’ve ever heard.

But speaking of the Ballon D’or, didn’t Kylian finish above Messi and Ronaldo as a 19 year old farmers league player? He did. So much for that nonsense. :coffee:

We didn't want him because we needed a LW not a RW or Striker.

2 For individual achievement Ballon D'or is more imlortsnt to a players legacy. Or is Gu
Iroud better than Messi?
What about the golden ball?

3 Ronaldo finished above Mbappe so more fake news from you lmao

- He played LW & Left Inside Forward at Monaco, but he’s capable of playing anywhere across a front line. I’m sure Barca and their scouts understood this.

- The World Cup is clearly the greatest title or championship a footballer can win. This isn’t up for debate.

- Did he? Oh well, Messi didn’t, and he’s the Spanish player. Ronaldo plays in Italy now. :coffee:

Ronaldo came 2nd for his performance in Spain winning UCL....

You ignored my point about the world cup great lmao. So i guess Giroud is better than Messi in your eyes lmao.

Mbappe also exclusively played striker for monaco with Falcao up front... more fake news he plays LW.

Either way club chose Dembele that simple so we didn't sign him we are doing great without him. Mbappe goes missing in big games like Liverpool and Real Madrid

The award cermany occurred as a Juventus player. He also won a Balon D’or before moving to Spain.

You don’t have a point. Winning the WC is obviously a greater achievement than winning the Ballon D’or. Period.

Ok, troll:

Are you seriously trying to compare Dembele to Kylian?

Go ask the French who they value more. Their young prodigy who plays in France and helped them secure their second star, or one of their many talents that was a bench/rotational option and plays in Spain.

Mbappe might be a PSG fan but he is still realistic (as he has shown in his maturity). He chose PSG mostly because he didn’t see much playing time while Ronaldo was inarguably their starter. Now Ronaldo is gone and Real Madrid is desperately needing a goal scorer, he might be tempted to go there and if he is adamant enough, PSG might consider letting him go for a good price as PSG and Real Madrid have cordial relations.

For us to get Mbappe it will be a lot lot lot tougher.

- Yea, no one knows who Kylian is. He isn’t the Face of French football or anything.

- Madrid offered €180m on a player they didn’t rate, a year before the WC? Makes sense.

You don't seem to be able to accept the fact that Ligue 1 is not a strong league. For players to be very very highly rated while playing in France they need to win big with their national teams and in the Champions League, competitions that are very highly rated.

Mbappe is a very big name because he had a very good World Cup. Credit where it's due. But so far playing for PSG has brought him very little. Reality is nobody cares if he scores 5 goals vs Guingamp.

- What does Ligue 1 have to do with Kylian being the face of French football? Ligue 1 can be as weak as you believe it is and Kylian will still be one of the worlds biggest players.

- Kylian was huge before the World Cup. He’s was the second most expensive player of all time a year before the competition occurred. Madrid, the worlds biggest club, was willing to spend €180m and break their transfer record for him. That’s the reality.

Real Madrid wont have the balls to try and fuck with PSG.

They took Ancelotti but that was early into PSG project before they really became PSG. Even with Man City, Real Madrid show them a wide berth and they were respectful enough to give them good money for Brahim Diaz with only 6 months left on contract.

He was huge as a talent. Not as a player. Madrid was rumored to be willing to pay 180m. because of what Mbappe can become, not for what he was back in 2017. Teams now pay a lot of money for big young talents like Mbappe, Dembele, Frenkie de Jong etc.

You need to make a distinction between great talent and great player. Mbappe has a lot to prove in the Champions League this year. He did prove at the World Cup that he is a great talent, but now must lead PSG to Champions League glory together with Neymar.

Oh woow - i biased could you be. The performances mbappe is putting in, are unbelievable for such a young player. Yes, its a bit easier for him playing in france with juggernaut PSG, but he has proven it in every competion and in every club, that he is top 5 in the world. He is still below messi, and still below neymar, he is prob 3th right now. Get real man. Im scared he will surpass messi, but we will see.

this is sarcasm right?

Mbappe is playing for the most stacked country in the world and a club with no equal in Ligue 1. he has unprecedented power at such a young age, he cost a fortune so he'll never have to fight for his place in the team and hes stayed in his comfort zone. leaving Monaco to join their rivals in PSG isn't ambitious, even as a Barca fan i can admit Madrid was the move to make and thats why he'll still be sitting on 0 CLs come the end of this season

Just face it: If Mbappe stays at PSG his entire career he won't be considered among the world greatest, because he will only have league titles and no CL's. People will forever ask how good he really was, as he wasn't tested in a strong league week after week. A bit like all the players who goes to China: They can score as many goals as they want, but they can't measure up. As things stands right now, on an individual level he can't even beat players from much stronger leagues to the golden shoe, even though the French league is so weak that it's unfair competition. In the golden boot-competition Ligue 1 should count 1.75 or 1.5, tbh.
