Just face it: If Mbappe stays at PSG his entire career he won't be considered among the world greatest, because he will only have league titles and no CL's. People will forever ask how good he really was, as he wasn't tested in a strong league week after week. A bit like all the players who goes to China: They can score as many goals as they want, but they can't measure up. As things stands right now, on an individual level he can't even beat players from much stronger leagues to the golden shoe, even though the French league is so weak that it's unfair competition. In the golden boot-competition Ligue 1 should count 1.75 or 1.5, tbh.
He's already considered one of the worlds greatest players. Hence his being the second most expensive player of all time and earning third place in the Ballon D'or at 19 years old. Mbappé is a world champion for christ sakes. The first teenager to score in a final since Pelé, and already carries a better goal scoring record in the knockout stags of the World Cup then the greatest players of the generation that precedes him.
Just face it: No matter how much you hate PSG, or how little you think of Ligue 1, Mbappé is already recognized as a prodigious player. He doesn't need FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and certainly not La Liga to earn the respect and admiration of the world.
He was huge as a talent. Not as a player. Madrid was rumored to be willing to pay 180m. because of what Mbappe can become, not for what he was back in 2017. Teams now pay a lot of money for big young talents like Mbappe, Dembele, Frenkie de Jong etc.
You need to make a distinction between great talent and great player. Mbappe has a lot to prove in the Champions League this year. He did prove at the World Cup that he is a great talent, but now must lead PSG to Champions League glory together with Neymar.
As an 18 year old Monaco player Mbappé bagged 6 goals in the champions league to help them reach the semi-finals, scoring against Manchester City, Dortmund, and Juventus. In other words, he's already proven himself at the highest level of European competitions, as he has on every level of football. That's why Real Madrid was wiling to break their transfer record for him. There is no comparison between he and and Dembélé, and even less so between he and Frenkie de Jong. They are great talents. Kylian is a great player.
Nice troll job you fucking muppet.
How is speaking facts a troll job? FC Barcelona has had an awesome run over the last two decades, and is currently lead by one of the GOAT's, but Madrid is still the worlds premier club in terms of titles and notoriety.
this is sarcasm right?
Mbappe is playing for the most stacked country in the world and a club with no equal in Ligue 1. he has unprecedented power at such a young age, he cost a fortune so he'll never have to fight for his place in the team and hes stayed in his comfort zone. leaving Monaco to join their rivals in PSG isn't ambitious, even as a Barca fan i can admit Madrid was the move to make and thats why he'll still be sitting on 0 CLs come the end of this season
Is this sarcasm?
He was ambitious enough to score in a WC final. He doesn't need to win the UCL at 20 years old to be recognized for his talent.
