Let him break that 50-goal record. I failed to see why and how it is such a sacred record.

Messi should not be measured by just how many goals he scores anyway.

If Messi stays healthy he could break it too the way hes been playing last few weeks.

And Ronaldo was on fire before Christmas last season too, then he tailed off. Messi during his 50 goal season was consistent through out.

He basically only needs a goal per game ratio to match the record, he can easily get that with penalties and being fed easy chances by teammates. His worse La Liga scoring rate was 09/10 and he was barely under a goal per game then. You think he's all the sudden gonna plummet just like that?

Games like today pretty much guarantee he'll beat it. He doesn't even have to play well and he'll get 7 shots and plenty of great chances, some easy ones as well. Madrid would have to being struggling and Cristiano would have to seriously begin struggling or get injured to affect the projection. The chances say it'll likely happen.

I am not watching it. Just reading the reports and comments. I went to Eurosport.yahoo to check the result and saw this on the report: "And Ronaldo finally gets his goal! Benzema sets the number seven up for a tap in into the empty net."

The last Madrid match I watched was against Barca. Beside that, just some highlights here and there. And that was enough to see that nothing has changed.

Well.

I started to watch them play from time to time when Carlo joined them. As strange at it is, it was because I was bitter that Carlo left Paris. I wanted to see what he could do there.

... I must say I am impressed. And people could say "but they have formidable players", Mourinho had a great team too, yet RM was never so... dunno how to say it... fun (?) to watch.

While people are impressed by Ronaldo or Bale, I am totally impressed by Carlo.

If only he was good I wouldn't mind, I really wouldn't. Zidane is one of the best ever. Pure poetry in motion...I will always admire him. But Ronaldo...He is glorfied poacher this days. Can't dribble worth a shit. Cant take a ball, pass to someone and create chance out of nothing. Can't take a game for horns and bridge the gap when team plays like shit. I mean, two goals he scored today after such a shitty game are Inzaghi level compared to Messi. You could see him kissing Benz for spoon feeding him for that goal...Then Carvajal of all people goes Maradona and again, gives him chance on silver plate. To think this 6 feet Inzaghi reincarnation is talked as one of the greatest at this sport is getting embarrassing. And lets not talk about his shot taking...I think he took minimally 10 today.

I'm with you. I seriously did not think Carlo was this good of a coach, but what hes done with RM is mightily impressive. He has found a system that works flawlessly, just like Pep did in his day, and it doesn't seem to matter which player he plugs from his bench, more or less the system keeps on churning smoothly.

I'm very impressed with him, and I did not think much of him when he was hired. I've done a complete 180.
