According to CEIS - Football Observatory, Ligue 1 is far and away the best league in the world for young talents:

"French football has the best young players in the world. This is the element most notable of this championship. And the best teams in the world will buy 15 players under 25 years of this championship, if not more. Some may already be sold at present "... The Football Observatory of the International Center for Sports Studies ( CIES ), affiliated with the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland, has just published a report on the best players under 23 in the 5 major European leagues, ordered by mail but also according to various parameters (playing time, rigor, recovery, finishing, distribution, percussion and endangered) measured by the Opta Index.

And it is clear that the L1 is very well represented. Thus, the championship of France for a central defender (Marquinhos, Paris SG) and four side (layvin kurzawa, AS Monaco, Djibril Sidibé, Lille, Jordan Amavi, Nice, Fabinho, AS Monaco) among the very best. But it is among the defensive midfielders that residents of L1 impress with 8 players on the top 15. Marco Verratti (Paris SG) is considered the most efficient. The Italian also appreciate the fact that we give chances to youth in France. "In Italy, young people lack confidence. Here in France, or even Germany, where the focus is on a young, you do it by accepting his mistakes " , he told the Corriere dello Sport on Tuesday. We then find players like Geoffrey Kondogbia (AS Monaco), Giannelli Imbula (Olympique de Marseille), Bryan Dabo (Montpellier), Jordan Ferri and Corentin Tolisso (Olympique Lyonnais) or Raffidine Abdullah (Lorient) and Jordan Veretout (FC Nantes ).

Thought this was pretty funny:

Radamel Falcao could remain at Manchester United if David de Gea signs a new contract with the club.

Both Falcao and De Gea are represented by agent Jorge Mendes and United have intensified their efforts in recent weeks to keep their Spanish goalkeeper.

Falcao, who has not scored since January 31, could form part of an agreement whereby United decide to keep him for a second season to pacify Mendes.

United sources insist that, despite four goals in 27 appearances, 29-year-old Falcao is not certain to leave Old Trafford and his future is intertwined with that of De Gea.

and more:

Manchester United are reportedly willing to sign Radamel Falcao on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Falcao, 29, has failed to impress since joining United on loan from Monaco for £6million, only managing four Premier League goals in 20 appearances.

Louis van Gaal, however, may be willing to spend £43.2million to buy him outright in the summer, after Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev revealed United have not ruled out the transfer.

Vasilyev told L’Equipe: ‘I met the Manchester officials last Sunday. They have not decided if they would exercise the option.

‘It has not been his best season, but they will decide at the end of the season.’

Chelsea and Liverpool were thought to be weighing up summer moves for the Colombian striker, but it appears he may be staying put at Old Trafford after all.

Great news for Monaco if the rumors prove true. Allows them to recycle even more money back into French football via the acquisition of young talents.

Maxime Gonalons says it is not his job to tell in-demand duo Alexandre Lacazette and Nabil Fekir to stay at Lyon this summer...

"I don't have to convince anyone," the OL captain told RMC. "They have a good head on their shoulders, there is Euro 2016 coming up in a year, we're going to have the new stadium coming, we're happy and lucky to be getting back into the Champions League. That's a lot of factors to take into account.

"When you feel good in a team, when you're flourishing, you should ask yourself the right questions and stay. Having said that, their future belongs to them. Everyone's different, everyone sees their career differently. But in any case, there is an important project here, and I hope everyone will stay."

Caen beats Lyon in an emphatic 3-0 victory, all but securing the league title for PSG. With a win or draw next week, Paris takes it home. Lyon will still qualify directly for the champions league, something that can happen as soon as tomorrow should Marseille defeat Monaco.

Read today that the DNCG president explained that Lens is probably going to end the season in L1, in spite of its monetary problems, and so keep its points

Marseille made a great comeback to beat Monaco 2-1 at the Velodrome. Draws them even in points with St. Etienne, maintaining their spot in 4th, and also keeps their UCL hopes alive.

Doria interview:

"A player needs to understand that it may be the first option of a coach as last. It's part of the trade. There were other players in my position and the coach had the right to choose if he considered it better. No player has a clause in his contract that assures him of playing. Our obligation is to train ourselves to be fit. That's what I did. The rest, only the coach can justify ", he said...

"Today I played with São Paulo and I defend my new colors, but I still belong to Marseille. I try to watch live matches, although this is not always easy with the time difference. But every day I watch the news on the Internet. And I talk to the players, such as Gignac for example...

Its future is it so far always linked to Marseille? "I did not really want to think about it. For now, we will play the knockout stages of the Copa Libertadores and in my head, I think only to help São Paulo. My return to Marseille is not related to the presence of "Professor Bielsa". This is a contractual matter. I have a contract with the club and I respect him ", he concluded. The ball is therefore in the OM camp.

A page in the history of the Girondins de Bordeaux turned the last weekend in the last game played at Chaban-Delmas, formerly Parc Lescure, against Nantes (2-1, 36th day of Ligue 1). A new chapter opens in the new stadium built for Bordeaux-Atlantic, including, host matches of Euro 2016. But that's not all. M6, owner of the club to the scapular since 1999, may well decide to sell.

In any case, the Parisian daily reveals that Mehul Thakur, Indian businessman, sent a letter of intent to the bank Rothschild mandated to sell the Girondins de Bordeaux. The latter, who made his fortune in real estate through his company Viva Group, would be willing to invest heavily, with the purchase of Haillan, Bordeaux training center and even a vineyard in the area. Nicolas de Tavernost M6 boss, has not confirmed the information.

"When the Rothschild bank has an idea, she calls us. We are not closed to discussion, but there is no negotiation " , he explained. However, when he announced "one or two difficult seasons" financially for the club, he may have to seriously consider this practical approach. The redemption amount would turn, according to Le Parisien , around € 50 million plus a guarantee of € 20 million (€ 2 million per year for 10 years) on the new stadium. Girondins de Bordeaux will give in to the lure of they new Indian rich? Response in the coming months.

Just read that Chelsea and Marseille could strike a partnership like Chelsea-Vitesse. I hope so, I'd much, much rather send players to Ligue 1 than Erevidisie. :D
