Lionel Messi - v7

This forum is a cataclysmic mess. Imagine the greatest player of all time committing his whole career to your club, being the best player in the world pretty much every year, completely humiliating your most bitter rival, winning cups unseen in any clubs era, never mind Barca, and people are spitting shade on him because at 32 years of age he doesn't press like prime Rino Gattuso.

Bwahahaha man you just got to laugh. Wouldn't want to be in the trenches with this disloyalty in the air. Self entitled players? Pfft Self entitled fans more like.

agreed .

Just wait untill he has a run of 4-5 games without a goal. Barca ,,fans" will say he's finished and does't have a place in the squad.

Disgusting football ,,fans" .

Some of these so called barca fans are a disgrace. Messi has been integral in the most successful era in barca and carried the team on his back during valverde's reign. The ones saying the team would have done better with Ronaldo, know nothing about football.

Some are URFs (Undercover Ronaldo Fanboys) but most are not. This is why some fans in Catalunya despise foreign fans and want them to stop 'supporting' the club to the point where they will accept the club getting relegated and I am not exaggerating on this.

We have seen this team without Messi. They've had ample chance to prove their worth and failed every time, even the start of this season. Messi comes back , we win every game, with him scoring in each game and we are meant to stomach that he is the problem????

Don't worry , these lot will be long gone when Messi retires and we go back to fighting for 4th place.

For the secret Ronaldo fan boys, In my honest opinion he is the luckiest player in the history of football. He gets the credit for single handedly winning Portugal euro 2016, they qualified coming 3rd in the group, would have been knocked out in previous tournaments. Gets injured in the final, but he still made them win by willing his team on ffs.

That real madrid team that won 3 in a row were crazy lucky, wouldn't have won any if var was introduced earlier, they lost the league to us comfortably in 2 of those years and the year they won was down to horrible refereeing decisions.

Considering Messi literally carried this team to a Semi-Final in the CL last year and should have reached the final where we surely would have won vs fucking Tottenham, it's insane to say we would have won it with some other player instead of him.

And yes, I know some people want to argue against the term 'carrying the team', but Messi carried the team last year, in fact he's been carrying the team for the last couple of years in the Champions League

Messi was a different player back then. Not limited and the most complete player maybe in history. Would we have Messi anno 2007-2012, im sure we would have won champions leauge after 2015 maybe even more than once, but maybe lost a la liga also.

2007-09 Messi was pre or early prime Messi and certainly a lesser player than the Messi of the last couple of years, i don't care that he was faster back then

Messi 2007-2009 would have been a better option in chl imo. Speed, stamnia, workrate, dribblings, effort were all trhough the back then.

I don't think he will ever regain his dynamism. It has been declining for years now, but these latest strings of injuries have probably knocked out any of it he had left for good.

He will still produce best in the world, otherworldly magic once he regains form, but his style of play is not suited to him being the main and most likely the only creative threat in CL knockout matches anymore.

This is why was bringing Neymar home was so important.

Without Messi and with Valverde in charge? No way we would've won it just by replacing Messi. But with a better manager and without Messi we would have more chances than with Messi, these tactics and Valverde around.
