Lionel Messi - v7

A lot, perhaps half of this forum will be gone. You can't really blame them though. Every top team has a portion of their fanbase only following the team because of a certain player. This is not a Barca thing, it's a sports thing.

I don't know how representative this forum is but I think half of this forum gone is too much or too far-fetched. I'd hope overall (not limited to this forum) just a small percentage of fans leaving the fandom (in terms of following Barca) because anything significant will impact our numbers adversely.

Time to burn Messi shirts, merchandise, effigies

maybe something similar to the Grizmann's farewell chant by ATM.

This would never happen but

joining the Eagles in a 3-2-3-2

Guaita
(Ferguson/Clyne)/Kelly - Riedewald/Sakho - PVA/Mitchell
Kouyate - Schlupp
Townsend - Messi - Eze
Zaha - ayew/batschu

Instant switch from most defensive anti-footborz to one of the most aggressive teams Would be so rad!!!

btw, 'sup with all the shock at Messi tackling the Kiev attacker with his shin no ippo stare? Messi's a Skywalker, it is known.

That's like 3 references in a single post :brevet:

True

I would stay a Barca fan after Messi leaves, but my time as a Lakers fan will be up as soon as the GOAT leaves.

Messi fanboys you are ridiculing yourselves even more.
He is doing that in every game all the time the last 5 years to say the least.

Pretending that the earth is flat and not round will not save your ridiculous attempts to defend Messi's flaws.

There is nothing honest in your question.
It's the new stupid 'last ditch' attempt to save your argumentation from the living proof that we witness with every passing game.

And there is a simple answer: EVERYONE is outperforming him in the attacking positions in all phases of play, because none plays as badly as Messi curently, even dembele with his mistakes, or Griezman with his incompatibility.
None of the rest commits ALL of the following:
i) attempt to dribble and fail, or succeed and then fail to follow,
ii) attempt to pass and fail to find teammate
iii) attempt to shoot from difficult positions, and fail to score all the time
iv) do all the above at the wrong moments, when there is always a better option
v) Not have a position on pitch
vi) Demand the ball at his feet all the time.
vii) Never defend
Even Griezman who fails miserably on i)-iv), at least does v - vii) correctly

So, cut the shit and face reality.
The team is playing with 10 men with Messi on pitch

1) name the persons who are "currently" outplaying messi. as i said before messi did not have a preseason so he's working his way back to fitness.
2)name our consistent dependable scorers beside messi and our star forward own goal.
3)i dont know what team you have been watching but coutinho, griezmann, dembele and trincao have all been horrible this season. just because coutinho scored a couple goals doesnt mean he played well.
4) messi is definitely aging and cant beat the third man thats true. he has to adapt his game again to a new system, new teammates and an incomplete squad that doesnt have a 9 that will possibly change with the new board.
5) messi is also a victim of koeman tinkering, he's been moved around the most to accomodate coutinho who cannot play LW or RW but only 10 and Griezmann who cant play anything but 10 and even that he cant do.
6) its now messi's fault that fucking griezmann cant finish a 2 yard shot with no keeper.
7)past that griezmann one of our attackers had 0 attempted dribbles, ZERO. he played the entire match facing the wrong direction.
if you cant see the big picture i cant help you. knock yourself out.

I wonder how many "Barca fans" will be leaving next summer, just like some supposedly "Real Madrid fans" stopped following Real Madrid after Ronaldo left.

I genuinely don't want to see that impacting our brand power.

Depends. Some become fans of a club because of a player at first, but stick around long after that player is gone. Some don't. We have some Messi fans who will stick around in the future no doubt, and we have fanboys who don't care about anything else related to Barca except Messi.

You didn't even read what i wrote.
You are just listing the common 'Messi fanboy' excuses (It's the others fault, pre-season, wait for him to adapt, and all that crap), without any reference to any of my points.

Why even bother answering you if you don't respect the conversation?

Keep living in your own bubble where the earth is flat.

Sure, I'd even argue most fans probably became a fan because of a player or two at the very beginning. At the same time I understand those who are never a fan of the club where their idol players are at. I myself like Schweinsteiger (aka Fussball Gott) but never was I a fan of Bayern or Chicago Fire.

I wish... Level of discussion will pump upwards immediately.
Currently, it's like trying to engage with flat-earthers in a serious argumentative manner about the shape of the earth

Actually this thread is really boring because some users repeat the same things over and over.
What's the point of always posting the same concept if it has already been expressed?
Some here think Messi is Barcelona's number 1 problem, that he is now a former player, that playing with him is like playing in 10 men, that he always decides when to play and always plays.
Ok.
Is it possible to have a slightly more articulated opinion than this or should one be labeled as Messi fanboy?

Level of discussion would never pump upwards considering the amount of shithousing and media so called leaks about player habits, on and off the field.

As of messi and people who are not on your bash train, calling them flat earthers, fanboys, or whatever the ignorant so called insult narrative you'd like to push, tells more about your state of mind then ours.

Facts, we are 12. in league without Messi goals. Bbz thinkalikes that thats all messi fault is even more laughable then any other agenda on this forum, even more of dembouzs decade of dominance sarcasm.

It is possible, but it is very difficult to make a case for Messi currently without appearing to be a fanboy. Maybe if his attitude changes.
