Lionel Messi - v7

If by interest of the club you mean to dick suck Salah or CR. Or to praise players who have done nothing here just so it suits an agenda, then you got another thing coming buddy.

Some people here suck Messi?s dick as much as CR fans sucking CR?s dick.

I am sick and tired of the Messi doesn?t deserve this shit team or club shit. We all agree he should leave.

Also, international fans? What?s wrong with them? Most people here, including you are international fans. International fans do care, and many of them are superbly knowledgeable, not less so than local Barca fans.

And how do you guys think we will rebuild? Where will we find the money? How? Let's say Messi leaves next summer and we sell Griezmann, Coutinho and Dembele because they are fucking worthless. We will be left with horrible centre backs, old Alba, Busquets, Bob, Pjanic and fucking Trincao. The only players that are good or have potential are Mats, De Jong, Pedri and Fati. Rebuild my ass guys. We will be worse than Villareal. We have no money and who knows if Xavi will be next Pep or next Solskjaer. Dark times could be ahead of us and I don't think people are aware of that. We have no money, no players and La Masia is ruined. Espai Barca project was a charade so we also have one of the oldest stadiums in in Europe. This is the legacy of Bartomeu and if you think Messi is the main problem I can't wait for you to wake up next year.

La Masia is not ruined.

There is a lot of talent there and likes of Fati has just come through.

Ok, so your alternative is what?

I keep hearing this, but whether it takes 2 years or 10 years to rebuild a strong team, there isn't any other way.

People are not promoting that we cut off 28 years old Messi, 27 years old Pique, 26 year old Busi. Just so we can pursue a pipe dream. We are simply asking that we don't prolong the inevitable anymore and don't waste even more time.

Look at where the team is with Messi as the central player. It's clear. Messi can't help us anymore. Whether or not he could have helped us in some hypothetical scenario (if we had stronger defenders, if we had a prolific no9, if we had a better manager etc.) is irrelevant really.

Poorer teams have less options and are still able to build. The trick here is to not expect to compete for the UCL and league for the next 3 years. I've accepted that and so should the rest of the forum.

Our revenue will recover (albeit not recovering to the pre-COVID level any time soon) and we will have money, if managed adequately and smartly, we will be able to buy decent enough players to plug some holes such as CB. Messi won’t be able to be replaced for sure for his goal scoring and more importantly his ability to create, but we will have to play a different game with younger and less talented players and make up that talent and experience deficit gap with hard work and motivation and we go from there. This is how teams rebuild and we won’t be different.

As long as we qualify for the CL which is crucial for us both financially and psychologically, not winning the league and the CL for several years is fine. Of course, we have to do the right things to rebuild the team first.

A rebuild doesn't automatically entitle you to trophies and even a top 4 spot. Our rebuild will be a painful one, but I am confident that the youngsters in the current team+ some kids in the B team could make us have enthusiasm again. We can ride it out with them until the club has enough money for a decent signing or two. Also no pressure on Xavi. Only bring him in when there's a clear project. Next season should be Pimienta with all youngsters (get rid of everyone from Pep's/Lucho's team and start from scratch). If we can also ofload MATS and FDJ for a great fee then I'm all for it.

He tried a lot and was our best. Which speaks volumes about his attitude. Turned it up because his ego couldn't let Ronaldo shine in his presence. This makes him look more worried about his personal ego than about Barca. Had he been playing like today we would have performed better at least results wise.

There is no alternative. I am just saying some of you should be more respectful towards the legends of this club. Those players brought us joy over the last 15 years. I am not talking only about Messi. The amount of insults towards Pique, Suarez, Rakitic, Alba etc. is fucking unbelievable. I guess now we can enjoy Lenglet, Pjanic, Trincao and Braithwaite. They are younger so they must be better?! We were also bashing Neymar and we got Dembele and Coutinho. So if you think we will reinvent our squad just like that you will be surprised.

I have never said that Suarez or Rakitic or Busi or Pique should still play for Barca but if their alternatives are Pjanic, Lenglet or Braithwaite than that's not a rebuilt but a pure joke. There should always be a way to say goodbye to the likes of Busi or Pique or Messi without insulting them week in week out. One of the greatest things about this club was a respect we always showed towards our legends. Unfortunately we lost that.

This is exactly what will probably happen in the next 2 years

If we solidify about 3-4 starters from the talent we have (Fati, Pedri, maybe Puig, Dest, maybe Araujo) while we raise money to sign 2-3 world-class players after 2-3 seasons, then it will be pretty good. If we even win a title even better (even a Copa del Rey would be good in these moments to give us confidence).

I don’t know if it is a fluke or B team resources being shifted away to help cover the first team, our B team this season has had a very poor showing so far. Won only 1 game if I am not mistaken.

I feel like Pimientas time has passed sadly, he could not have done any worse than Setien and Koeman have the last 12 months. He should the coach now, however he has no chance of coaching this team unless Koeman is fired. I joked that with Koeman we would be fighting for a Europa spot, but that is looking more and more likely.

Yea, I don't think that just because you criticize X, Y player in 2020, you don't respect them for what they achieved in the past. It's like if you punish your child for doing some really bad stuff today, should it mean you never loved him or something? Seems like a very forced syllogism.

This way of looking at things is part of the reason why the club is in this mess in my opinion. Because we started to look at the aging players and didn't make a distinction between how they play currently, and how they played 3-4 years ago.

It's really bad that to this day players like Pique and Busi are undeniable starters. These guys should have been moved to a bench role like 2-3 years ago, no matter how perfect they looked in peak Pep Barca.

Other top European clubs are far more ruthless with their legends than we are. Bayern was like us five-four years ago. They were still riding on Robben and Ribery which got them nowhere in Europe. If you ask me, Barca is the most generous club. Players like Busquets and Luis Suarez should've been offloaded after Roma.
