Messi hater forum in all its super boring lack of concepts.
In the minds of these fools since the player stopped being a superhero then became problem number 1

Watch a match again and check options of Cou and Griezz.

When they are free = teammates see only Messi
If they run into counters = teammates don't see them because they need to pass to Messi who will build the attack slowly from a CM position
When Cou and Griezz finally get the ball, the opponent has already parked the bus and AGAIN Messi is lurking 2 meters away from them centrally at the edge of a box, asking every ball.

I lose my nerves watching that shit.
Imagine how Cou and Griezz feel since they are living that thing every match.

Messi's presence on a field, positioning and his fame/history/respect is totally killing the team.

True. Messi wants the team to have a slow build-up and for him to be the no10 making the plays. Either that or he's finished physically and can't run anymore. No other reason why you'd slow down when the team can counter. You should do the opposite. Join the counterattack and provide an extra option for a pass.

Coutinho had 2/3 shots I don't think any hit the target/were even on target. I recall he made one, yes ONE run diagonally away in behind and recycled it back via Braithwaite who was also wide but it was all done at near walking pace. Just for a few seconds there the left area opened up slightly. It just doesn't happene enough, in fact it barely happens at all. Of course the right side is like that too and that's mainly down to Messi (but that's old hat) and Griezmann to an extent. Did Griez even once run in behind to open up space, nope!

It's an utter mess. Barca are playing a game that virtually none of teh players are suited to. Boring chat biut that's the story!

Honestly it is on Koeman and not Messi. Either sub Messi or change your style to slow build up fitting Messi. The objective at the end of the day is to do the best you can given the cards you have

No one can sub Messi due to what he has done for us in the past.

So, we can only play this type of football.

EV's slow Valverdeball looked like a Sci fi technology compared to this granny slow build up football.

Even Rakitic's hips looked like a speed of light compared to this.

Hence explains exactly why EV played the way he did, he had a shit team and did the best he thought would work with the squad. I am starting to believe we have treated EV unfairly and failed to recognize his value and sacrifice. He sacrificed his own brand for results

While Messis problem now is part physical, that doesnt explain why his passing and shooting suddenly went from GOAT level to this.

Shooting and passing relies on physical attributes (though less noticeable than others) as well. Spatial perception, mental imagery, reaction times, strain and so all affect composure and the ability to look and pick out a ball; these all the decrease with age along with speed, endurance, and strength. The difference just isn't as dramatic and noticeable as other physical attributes.

You can definitely note older players taking longer to make a decision with the ball than they used to during their prime.
