Lionel Messi - v7

Well, objectively Messi was the least of our worries this game. And we still hear magic shit like "bUT hE doNT PreSs tHAts WHy wE loOOsE" like psg didn't score all goals by playing long balls from defense over the top that bypassed any pressing.

You are underrating the impact of a pressing Messi, many players of our team has him as a role model and if you see him walking all over the pitch while PSG is outplaying us the other players look lost. Our best matches were when Messi was pressing as well, not because only of Messi but the other players got better. If you see the superstar of your team giving 100% then you as a normal player will give 120%.

It was clear koeman didn't want messi or the whole the team pressing like madmen. Griezmann wasn't either. Messi did his share though. That was not the reason for the loss anyway. Bad tactics, bad midfield and defence and no puig starting was the reason for at least a closer scoreline anyway. Yes messi played better against alaves because the rest of the team mainly the midfield were able to dominate the ball unlike last night where they either couldn't or were told to sit off

Why has he played against Alaves ? Everyone on this earth knows that Messi has a bad stamina.

he didn't even attempt to shoot at all yesterday. kept over-dribbling and slowing down play.

i guess scoring bangers against PSG is much more difficult than against Alaves who give you 500 acres of space

When did he get a clear opportunity to shoot yesterday?
Everytime he got near the box there were psg players around him or rows in front of him. If he was over-dribbling it was to find that space. He did get in space to shoot a couple of times but when a teammate can't give you a simple 5 yard pass what chance do you have

He probably will if the rest of the team don't play like they did last night

Messi played like the rest of the team and stayed out the way up the pitch. Again looked like he was hiding so cant be put on others for him being poor.

He will do well when leaves to team that plays in final third more but for now looks like he has given up when games seem too tough. Doesnt really do anything to change game unless ball finds his feet. Exact same as against Bayern. He gave up.

Performances from team and Messi yesterday just show it is best for all to move on and start afresh... but then we have Laporta coming in that will bend over backwards to try and keep him, who thinks Pique is best CB in the world and is in love with Dembele so doubt much will change.

Should give up with this retard defence imagine giving it your all to score wondergoal over for braindead Lenglet to fuck it up 10 seconds later

So ye give out about him dropping too deep usually and now its hiding when he tries to stay up the pitch. He actually did drop deep when he wasn't getting the ball for ten minutes and he basically had to drop into his own half because that's where the midfield was. I'm not saying he is without blame but the midfield were so bad and overrun last night it was almost impossible for him to shine

Leo has to be smart and leave this sinking ship. This team is broken beyond a repair. We will probably need a minimum of 3 to 4 years to properly rebuild and he doesn't have that much time. I honestly hope he will go to City for his final 2 years. People expect too much from him and can't realize that even Leo from 2012 wouldn't be able to perform in this horrible team.
