Lionel Messi - v7

Yeah mate, Messi told Laporta to not bring Haaland and instead get some freebies. He wants to play with bums, he always strived for that.

That's what he's doing, isn't he? He's agreed to stay in the worst Barcelona team in over a decade when he could easily leave and join a competitive team. Nothing is stopping him from leaving. And yes, you best believe he's had a hand in getting in Aguero. He's best friends with him and won't give a fuck about things on the pitch as long as he can go on dinner dates with him. Look at what happened when Suarez was here. Messi would often pass it to Suarez the most. Expect Messi to pass it to Aguero all the time.

The problem is, Messi will sulk on the pitch and blame everyone else if we're doing shit. Look at the recent game against Celta for instance. He was sulking and shaking his head when we're losing. What happens if we're doing shit halfway through the season and struggling in the Champions League?

Anyway, regardless if Messi stayed or not, we were going to be shit next season. I just wouldn't mind us moving on from Messi. It has to happen eventually. I just don't want to see an unmotivated and sulking Messi next season.

If we'd have had just one successful transfer window in the last 4 years then there'd be so much less boring moaning in this thread. The other day the moaning was about him not making a decision about staying or going early enough. Now he's made his decision the money is the new thing to moan about. Multiple reports and figures have shown Messi has contributed to our income more than he costs. Then there's him still scoring 30 goals a year.

If Messi leaves we don't suddenly have the ability to sign Haaland for 100m+. If there was an obvious heir to Messi at barca (PLEASE don't say Fati who might never play again at the top level) then I'd be on board with him going.

If a struggling Barca thought Messi leaving was good for business and their financials they would have let him leave.

They know that letting Messi leave will have a negative impact for a club in crippling debt with little cash flow already and multiple sponsorship deals that's soon running out.

And how can that happen when Messi gives the manager ?the look? or calls Laporta?

Why was Aguero a bench player for Argentina and Higuain always preferred ahead of him?

No, he won't. We're not bringing in Aguero to sit him on the bench. He's obviously going to be our starting striker. Who else will play ahead of Aguero?

Ansu Fati or Memphis Depay with Ansu at the LW.

The mass majority of the revenue we get from Messi is from shirt sales and people visiting the stadium. Due to COVID, Messi's revenue intake would have been way down, so we can't use that to justify the kind of money he's getting. Yes, he was great from January till April this year. But he didn't play well from September till the end of December.

The problem is, he's still going to be getting around 500k a week, a big signing-on fee and a 33m loyalty fee. Kinda crazy for a 34-year-old. Let's be honest here, we don't know what kind of Messi we're going to get next season. Will he be motivated? What happens if we're struggling next season?

Regardless, he's made his decision. He best put in his best, and he best not dare moan and sulk on the pitch if things are going badly. He had a chance to leave. He can't blame Bartomeu on that one.

I honestly don't understand how some of you can be so miserable all the time. What's even the point?

You guys can spin even something positive into the most negative thing.

Miserable gits.

Sponsorship money is less tangible, but probably still Messis biggest contribution financially. I think you are trying a little too hard to construct your argument.

Truth...to some it feels like the point of football isn't the football but the moaning that comes with it.

So after having another good season here, being by far our best player, you deem him a loser if he stays. Because he should go and win stuff elsewhere. What club are you supporting?

Was there any other free striker of Aguero's level on the market? Have you talked to Laporta or Messi? When did Messi tried to bring one of his friends at the club in the past? So basically a load of shite that you choose to believe.
Why he passed to Suarez when he had great chemistry with him and the other attacking players were other shite or mostly injured? All this while we played 442 and those 2 were our attackers?
Of course Messi sulks when he sees that others are not up to scratch. Do you think he enjoys seeing us fail?

He has been motivated this season with our worst squad since he came at the club. How do you know he won't be motivated next season when we might have a better one?

I highly doubt the club sees much of his sponsorship money.... definitely not after that 2017 contract he got from Bartomeu. I'm willing to bet Messi took advantage of every little thing during the negotiation.

Valid point regarding Argentina, lets hope next season the players selection is based on performance.. that is one thing I liked about Koeman he did not mind benching Griezman when he was not performing

All I'm going to say is: Stop fucking complaining when the player hasn't even joined officially yet, when the summer transfer market have barely started, when most of us know absolutely nothing about what will happen during the summer or next season.

Now if Aguero is the starting striker and absolutely STINKS next season then sure, complain and bitch all you want. I'll be there with you guys.

But god....stop fucking complaining all the fucking time. Especially when the date today is May 22nd and the season haven't even officially ended yet.

Its frustration when 3 years in a row you see (I see at least from my POV) one of the core issues that creates a bad domino effect in the club I love not being acknowledged and not being resolved while everyone is in denial. Other clubs have moved on from legends and settled for few years of healthy transition without much trophies in hope to jump at it once again in the near future (Madrid for example) .. meanwhile our denial has caused both not to win titles in the short run and to delay a healthy recovery in the long run
