Lionel Messi - v7

Did he force them to pay these super-inflated contracts to everyone? Or to take the Neymar money and throw it away for muppets?

Barca was always a badly-run club - and the wage structure never made any sense. But that's on the leadership. It's logical that the pandemic crisis quickly revealed the losers of a system that rewards mediocrity over success.

Messigician needs to understand. Stop blaming Laporta, I doubt he truly knew the extent until he went into office and read the accounting books.

He might have, if the other players agreed to a wage cut too.

But no way is Messi playing for 6-7-8 M while Griezmann and maybe even Countinho/Dembele make more lol.

Why not?

Ask yourself this, why were we forced to offer to pay him over 5 years when he worked for 2...

Now people are crying why ask Messi to work for free for 6 months while we pay him back when we are financially stable lol

I don't see anyone here crying why is Messi making us pay him over 5 years for 2 years of work...

Wake up and smell the coffee barcaforum

Let's be real Messigician. PSG has friends and former teammates for Messi. He knows how to play with them. Mbappe will finish his passes. The midfield is STACKED, and he'll be able to operate more efficiently. Paris is still clsoe to Barcelona so his family won't be uprooted too much. And he'll likely not have to learn French.

That would all be fine if psg were in a top league. He is joining a one team league with no big matches every year. Well no big matches that most of the world really care about

In the summer of 2014 (to his credit), he made some great signings (Rakitic, Suarez, MATS, Bravo) and appointed Luis Enrique, a club legend that helped them win a treble. This helped his candidacy going into the 2014-15 elections (beat Laporta by a lot).

Lol that thread is a joke, complaining about signings like Digne we sold for profit

Laporta just lied on short term. Everything has begun in Rossel era.

This is exactly why he was elected again and was held on piedestal by some cules. Yes he made profit with some signings... But meanwhile, this absolute cunt was raising the wage bill. Some extensions seemed harmless on the surface, but the net wage was being raised more and more. Despite the NeyNey wake up call (greedy bitch) we were offering more and more money to new signings or for renewals. And... Voila. Here we are. After Covid and seemingly after Messi.

Messi leaving us was always going to be tough emotionally. It would have been easier if he was not going to a European team. Hopefully, PSG announce his arrival pretty soon so we can move on.

I just realized that Messi has Hakimi and Neymar on the left wing and Mbappe on the right.

I swear if u attack then u die on the counter. Hakimi and Mbappe are Sonic. That team is unbelievable

Messi's press conference on Sunday was at his request, asking the club for the usage of the facilities. Messi is still very affected and is expected to insist that his wish was to continue at Bar?a. People close to him deny a closed agreement with PSG [sport] Impossible ...

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
Now imagine if he accuses Laporta and the board for lying or misleading him or says he agreed to a further paycut and they decided to stop negotiations anyway. Amazon might have to buy the rights for a documentary in that case because its gonna be a wild ride.
