Lionel Messi - v7

Nope, just done as the extraterrestrial star he's been for the past decade. He's now playing in a truly horrendous Barcelona side which means he can no longer do the godly things he used to do.

A few years ago Marcelo never catches him up in the second half. Still superhuman at times, but where he carried the side for so long under Valverde, that mismanagement is coming back to bite the club on the arse, and to be fair, Messi too. He's too thick too realise he should have jumped ship about 12 months ago.

Dude was hobbling walking to the stadium and walking off the bus tonight. No shit something is wrong with him.

It's called mileage, old age. He doesn't care that much anymore. This guy plays for 15 years at this level. His time is nearly up.

What? Xavi retired from us at 34. Iniesta at 34. Right? Messi should do the same. He's worse in movement than both.

He's been carrying an injury for weeks as reported by everyone covering the team. No shit he looks bad.

Too bad we cannot rest him as he's the only reason we've been in contention for the league this season. Especially after Suarez went down.

Not going to dwell more on this tonight. When it comes to being reactionary you're no better than some of the worst guys on this forum.

No point in blaming his teammates today, Messi struggles so many times with his touch and control at the moment. It’s like it’s a random player with a Messi mask on, unreal.

For weeks? He's been injured since the start of the year.... and yet he's been playing through it.

We literally should just rest Messi in half of our league games and save him for the Champion League games.

 Apparently one bad Classico is all it takes for some Barca fans...

He has many games like this, in fact he is like this in most away games in the last few years even when he scores. But then scores a some goals against Eibar at the Camp Nou and he is the best player in the world again.

Sometimes I have a feeling you guys expect him to play even in 2030 for us.

No, but you were also reactionary in 2014 and wanted to sell him then after a couple of bad games. Too bad that thread got deleted.

Stop making excuses for his shit performance.

The manager doesn't know what the fuck he's doing and Messi is being hurt by Setien's braindead sideways and backpassing mentality

Not just one Clasico mate, he has been average for much of this season. Multiple levels worse than anything we've seen from him in the past 10 years. It's natural though, he is almost 33. Next home match against a minnow he will score a hat-trick and we'll be expected to lick his boots again.

How about you talk about how Setien decided to play with no width and no pace up front, Frenkie as a LM and Vidal in god knows what position. You loved the lineup when it was announced. serghei
