Transfermarkt has always been more lenient in awarding assists. If we are using their statistics Xavi had 23 assists in the 08/09 La Liga season. Most other sites only give him 20.

Deflected passes and rebounds are usually not counted as assists. Unlucky, but it will all be okay once Leo wins his 7th Ballon D'or after we win the CL.

Yes and 25+ goals in the league for 11th straight season. Penaldo at least missed both of those targets last season.

If he can stay fit hopefully his numbers are better next year but the midfield needs to be more productive and a new forward is needed.
