Lionel Messi - v7

His legacy is very tainted after a three peat of CL humiliations. I'm not entirely sure how kind history will be to him. If he can manage to win one more CL (either with our club or another), he will be above CR7.

His career needs another high point. Whether it be a CL (won't be at Barcelona), a Copa America (one last go next year), a Ballon D'or or a strong World Cup (I doubt Argentina will even qualify as Messi will be too old to carry them like last time and that'll hurt his legacy even more).

It should be one CL, the biggest competition in Europe. Only World Cup would be higher but lets be honest this argentinia wont win it even though they are playing way stronger with the new coach.

Here?s a crazy thought. The changes that need to occur in the squad are the same regardless if Messi is here or not. We need getting rid of Suarez, Busquets, Alba, Vidal, Rakitic, more athleticism, a striker that is willing to press and a LW with pace that doesn?t spend all season injured.

Why some people are acting like this means building a team around Messi and not just things any team needs to be a success is frankly below the level of intelligence they have shown previously. Almost like there?s an agenda.

Although I agree with the general thought, I would fear that we would again focus our entire game on Messi, even with newer players. In the end we might end up still being super predictable and slow since we always wait for Messi to make the calls in attack.

if you look in the past messi combines very well with players that take the initiative. take for example fati. the kid showed balls and did his own stuff and also combined well with messi. messi looked thrilled. same with frenkie.

messi adapted and is more involved in games but that is just because the others have no legs, are cowards or not really good.

Truth is he played better with Puig, a guy that can pass provide and receive fast strong passes. Some more of those guys are needed.
Oh, and someone who can take a player on would be nice for a change.

No other captain in the world from any sport can go quiet like he is doing right now and get away with it.

At least say something dawg.

of course. that's why he liked playing with neymar so much. he is not a selfish prick, if he sees talent he is more than willing to cooperate and work towards bringing us success.

i would say messi would have liked for someone like neymar to replace him.
