Lionel Messi - v7

I am sorry for the harsh words and Christina comparison but Messi has pissed off even his biggest fans recently with his behaviour.

You're not a Messi fan, you're a Neymar-fanboy.

And in regards to CR7, he constantly had issues with Perez (who wanted to eventually replace him with Bale), for years there was talk, rumours about him leaving and he was often asking for more money (as much or more as Leo), which was the main reason he left in the end, money and ego. Not to seek new challenges, thats his PR firm (Mendez) talking.

Now Messi deserves a proper end to his barca career like Iniesta but who cares that he hasn't spoken. Let him take his time.

2009 - Trophyless.
2010 - Trophyless.
2011 - Just Copa del Rey.
2012 - Finally a league trophy.
2013 - Trophyless.

Never talked about leaving. Kept his head held high & led his team to 4 Champions League trophies in 5 years.

When it was time to go he left with a champions league win and his club made a profit on him.

Messi wants to leave after walking around in a 8-2 defeat and not saying a single thing to the fans at least Pique had the balls to say something.

No player is bigger than my beloved Barca, if Messi isn't happy leave and fund our rebuild. We cannot play modern football with passengers who think they're too good to trackback and defend.

Messi led this club to its greatest period of all time. Also he led this club to be number one over the past decade. And he never talked about leaving.
I feel like "fans" forget what club they are supporting. Or suddenly there isn't something to care about other than Champions league wins?!

Wake the fuck up! Your comparing a club legend that we've raised here and he gave everything to Bar?a to a ego maniac who never gave a fuck about Madrid and got lucky to win 1—2 CLs more than he should have.

If he goes to Inter his career is over as they wont win trophies. His only option is PSG so he would be topscorer, winning ligue1/cups and has a big chance to win the CL again. In the end of the day he will stay here.

Barto pulled a masterclass. Every cretin out there believing any rumours denigrating Messi. Guy has a history of hiring shady companies to shit on the players, including Messi, but everything bad is falling on the head of the players, who are admittedly toxic, but far away from the main culprits. Just watch the rat walking away scot free next year and I wouldn't be surprised if he will be seen as the victim in all of this.

Nah, everyone knows barto's the driving force behind our demise but at the end of the day the 8-2 was directly the fault of the players and coach, something which has happened 3 times in a row. the players obviously dont want to go as is their right, Messi feels that he and his friends have been scapegoated, they haven't; they are genuinely part of the problem and he needs to realise this.

It sounds like you want the absolve the players of all fault and want to blame barto for everything...

Barto and his board deserve most of the blame, something between 95 to 99 %.

The fact the team is so unbalanced, not replacing older players, the huge wage bill, the long contract for older players, the money wasted on Coutinho, Griezmann, the polictics all the board faults.

read this: https://www.espn.com/soccer/barcelona/story/4164118/inside-barcelonas-historic-week-messi-threatens-to-leavesetiens-shortcomingshow-they-hired-koeman

some quotes about Setien:

Despite that, after a series of meetings, there was a consensus among the players and the coaching staff that Setien would remain in charge for the Champions League campaign. Everyone on staff agreed to pull together for the sake of the club; however, per some sources, Setien seemed to have checked out. He didn't give a proper team talk ahead of the Aug. 8 win against Napoli, instead telling the players they were experienced enough to know what they had to do. In the build-up to that game, some players turned to other members of the backroom staff to ask for information on Napoli's strengths and weaknesses -- analysis Setien would usually deliver.

Barca survived that game, winning 3-1 (4-2 on aggregate), but their preparation for Bayern was just as haphazard.

How can you have any chance of beating a juggernaut like Bayern like this?

Yeah lets forget what happened during the league campaign with the players revolting because he made changes they didnt like, perfectly understandable that he stopped giving a fuck. Barto is responsible for the state of our squad, but the players themselves are fucking delusional and culpable you are just refusing to see it.

You can't expect player themselves to say, i'm no longer good enough (even tough that might be the case for several of them) so please bench or transfer me...

Thats the job of the coach and/or the club.

True.
So Setien demands some intensity and hard work and these primadonnas decide to down tools and sulk?!
Good thing they don't work in the real world.

Dont want to see him leave. Walking or not, he doesnt deserve to say goodbye with 8-2 being his last game.

Endure Leo

Of course I want to put the majority of the blame on Bartomeu. He indulged the players, he signed them to massive extensions, he directly created the toxic environment by being an incomepetent and weak leader, he spent a large amount of money on misfits and players not good enough, all that leading us having to field that shit show of a team the last 2-3 years. He is responsible for hiring and keeping a mediocre, no personality shit tier manager like Valverde who in turn was a doormat that gave the players even more leeway.

Of course the players are way past it and simply out of their depth at this level, they should all go except for Messi. And even Messi should go at this point because it's better for both us and him.

Anyway, at this point we should wait and see what happens in the next few weeks and stop believing every other rumour by any journo, especially the lapdogs of MD and sport.

There is no doubt Ronaldo has more leadership, is more professional, more motivated, and more hardworking than Messi. Only Messi fanboys would say differently.

In terms of mentality, and in terms of what makes a competitive athlete, he is a level above Messi. And before the Messi fanboys start to call me a hater, Messi has some areas as well where he is a level above Ronaldo.

Messi is better than Ronaldo, or viceversa depending of what is the subject being discussed. For professionalism, ambition and hard work, the man is Ronaldo no doubt.

Most fans who try to remain neutral know this by now.
