Lionel Messi - v7

I'm not saying he should go there but if he did and won Inter the title next year after 9 years of Juve dominance (and beating Ronaldo) then it would save his legacy.

Even if he did that, he wouldn't be the undisputed GOAT. The only way he would become that is if he won the world cup. If he retired today, he is still a top 3 contender along with Pele and Maradona.

His last shot at winning the World Cup was in Rio.

I know, he is almost definitely going to finish his career without the world cup. There will be people who will still class him as the GOAT, using examples like you can't judge a career on 4 weeks of football every 4 years etc, but you'll also get people saying the world cup is the biggest trophy in football, you can't be the GOAT without it. It is what it is.

As upset as Messi might be with what's going on at the club I think he'll put his familly first. Thiago is already going to school and Matteo will go in a year or two. They would all need to learn a new language and adapt living in a country they don't know. Just don't see it happening.

Agree no way he's leaving anywhere else.

I don't think he'll leave at all. The one club legend tag will go and that too so late in his career. Imo he isn't going nowhere.

I dont see him going anywhere, but he will also not sign extension. Probably will wait until new board in March and whoever is in charge then, will then have a possibility to convince him to stay. He is free to go next summer and no one sane will pay massive amount for him, which is only way Barto is willing to let him leave (as our financial struggles may put him in position it is needed).
Currently board has the power, dont think they care that much if Messi is angry about them, as it rather shows them in positive light and keeps the story of "dictator" Messi alive.

What source is OL?

It's fine with me if he announces he's leaving next season for free. At least we'll now where we're at and we can start to plan for a future after Messi.

But seems like a BS at this point. Probably just some journalist trying to make a story and reporting Messi also leaving because Suarez is gone.
