This saga is dragging on too long and is hurting the club's image.
I may be alone with this one, but I think all this seems worse to us within the Barca bubble than it is from an outside perspective. I don't even think the 'saga' is perceived as one as much outside of the Barca fan group, specific Barca-related media and fans of clubs that are supposedly in for Messi like Man City. A lot of rumours and 'news' have come out, and it feels like a lot has happened, but all the back-and-forth news in the last two days come from very specific sources - as in, I don't think the average football fan follows what Veronica Brunati, TV3, etc. post about this during the day and so doesn't even feel that a lot is going on.
So for a lot of outsiders, it's this situation: Messi handed in a transfer request. There seems to be disagreement about that contract clause. Nothing else. Not even serious widespread reporting by bigger media about transfer offers, Barca rejecting them, new offers, etc. The Neymar saga in comparison seemed worse.
On top of that, the club's image has already suffered so much in recent years that I fail to see how this story in particular would be further ruining it in the eyes of anyone who isn't deeply familiar with the ins and outs of Barto and Barca's. That we are in shambles was publicly on display with the 8-2 anyway.
Now, it all seems unbearable, tiring and dragged out to me too, don't get me wrong. I just think we are blowing a lot up ourselves because, well, the state of our club, and well, it's Messi.
