Lionel Messi - v7

There's a possibility that Messi might leave for free. Once this has been discarded, then we can think about what we'll get.

There are some reports that Leo and Barca want to find some compensation, since they don't want this to go to court, which is what I expect to happen.

It's best for both parties and the only logical outcome.

Come on man, you've literally just contradicted your own statement there.

Nope. He still thinks Suarez should stay. He doesn't see his own flaws. He doesn't think there's anything wrong with themselves. It's only the management. It's players fault too. they are just as responsible as the management.

Messi is thinking "imagine if we signed the right players with Neumar money".. that wouldn't help shit. Any player who signs with Barca looks bad. Why? It's not by accident! Because they don't work in practice at high level. The whole Barcelona is a screw job, from top to bottom.

Messi as a captain should demand more from practice if it was too easy. It's his role as a captain.

Coutinho signs with Barva, becomes ghost of his past. Dembele leg hurts because he lacks the game speed. Practice too small tempo.

Coutinho comes back and looks like a different person again. Barcelona training is dog shit and it's been for years.

Valverde, Bartomeu and the players. The blame goes here.

Enrique knew it was coming to this and decided to leave. Smart guy.

The bayern result obviously made up his mind and he doesnt exactly have time to be waiting another year to move on. Anyway he would be free next year. At least now there's a possibility of money for him
I truly do not care about what made him make that decision. The club and the supporters deserve better treatment and Messi failed us.

do not really know. I believe that there are a lot reasons not just one. Messy environment, a new challenge, poor relationships with the board (Abidal, for example). He has just had enough. But that does not excuse his unacceptable and unpleasant behaviour. Ignoring QS's instructions and indirectly criticizing him (when he said that everything went wrong since January) before the end of the season and now this. Should be called out and criticized for such behaviour.

It is perfectly fine to criticize both the board and Messi. You do not have to pick a side.

Yeah he's been poor this year attitude-wise, not denying that, or picking a side for that matter.

We have all been going on about for years how it's the worse run club in the world etc and yet I've seen far too many comments lumping large parts of the blame on Messi for recent results which is a joke.

player wants to go with one year on the contract.
start negotiations and there will be a solution
worst case scenario? Messi stays but refuses to play or train :)

If you want to rebuild then messi has to leave. Him leaving now or next year won't make a difference. Rebuilding the team will take a few years

And you know that...how?

How else do you read this situation?

Suarez clapping on Messis leaving decision. Vidal thumbs up. The amigo clan is strong as ever. Pique telling he can leave if there's replacement. (He knows there isn't so he is safe).

How else do you see the situation? It's the board vs amigos. Amigos are crying being treated SHIT after they've been PAMPERED for years!!! That's fucked up..

This was reality check for them and they didn't like it.

Exactly. Call up City and ask for Silva, Garcia and money. That's it.

Messi should have seen the symptoms of failure much earlier and change things. He messed up too. He should have done this 2-3 years ago. Now it's too late.

We needed to throw out some amigos long time ago and sign some fresh legs.

If we can get Silva and Garcia, we can look somewhat decent and maybe even put up a fight for Liga next year:

-----------------------MATS-----------------
Semedo--Garcia--Lenglet--Alba
-------Pjanić-----------De Jong--------
Dembele-------Silva--------------Fati
----------------Griezmann----------------

This is a decent team, I could do with. Could use some better fullbacks tho.

too many ifs and buts in there. 4/10

It's like playing vs Bayern with old past their prime players. There's no good roster which will make a good season/game. Bad planning for years is hurting us a lot.

The roster will be full of question marks. We can only pray for the best.

He probably does think Suarez should stay and doesn't deserve the treatment in regards to his dismissal. I've criticised Suarez for years and would love for him to leave but if he's been told he's surplus to requirements over a phone call that is inexcusable.

How do we know Messi doesn't see his own flaws? That's a total assumption. Here's some evidence to suggest he does see his and the players faults. After Anfield loss: "After [Liverpool] scored the second goal, we didn't compete. You can make mistakes in any game, but what we cannot have is a situation where we didn't compete. No one should beat us for attitude". "We, as the players, are to blame."

This entire forum has been saying we should have invested the Neymar money more wisely, how can you say that is not true?

2017/2018 season we win a domestic double, 2018/2019 we win the league, get to ucl semi final and final of copa. How are players supposed to believe they've been playing terribly/should try more when they're still winning things? You're thinking about it with the expectation that we should win the ucl 1 in 3 years with a treble 1 in 5 years.

Messi is definitely not a captain type of player and he shouldn't have been made it.

They have been saying that same crap every season. They said the same after Rome. "Our faulr, we need to practice harder". Guess what? They didn't practice harder. That shit has been said too many times to be taken seriously.

This team could have won couple CLs if they made smart moves, move on from some players, sign the right ones. We ended up moving no one and the signings especially big ones were total failures.

Messi defending Valverde(after Liverpool) was the biggest warning signal ever. That was the point you knew we should change the roster. It's rotten inside. The team. Yet we didn't change anything.

like it or not, messi would smooth the transition. young players would accumulate experience, while messi would keep us at a decent level results wise.

whatever anyone says, it's not good to start a new project with defeat after defeat. you have to gain some momentum and mental positivity. this is barcelona after all and you don't get much time or patience.
