Lionel Messi - v7

I can see club winning this legal battle, but also Messi as well. COVID literally brought world to a halt, football was non existant for 3 months so it makes sense to argue that June date would not fit.

CAS would probably rule in favor of player in this case. Its not clear cut and could turn out ugly.

Well, it's a special season. Cavani left middle of the season because his contract ended.

Silva signed short-term extension to play with PSG in the CL etc. To me it looks like Messi should have left when he had chance. (Compared to others). It's pretty weird though. It's not like he could have left middle of the season.

How can he leave when we still had a chance to win the league and the Champions League? It was basically the middle of the season. He had no time to reflect or to think because the season was still going on. That's why he has that exit clause every year.... in case he wants to leave. If he feels the team isn't on the right path or that we're just not good enough, he has every right to activate that exit clause. He had no chance to think about his future because the season was still going on.

Unfortunately Bartomeu cares more about his legacy (already ruined thanks to his own doing) than the image and interest of the club and its future. He doesn't want to budge because he doesn't want to be seen as the president who let Messi go, despite doing so will be in the interest of both parties.

Partially he is where he is today because of those maniac Messi fans who protested. Thanks!

Btw 9 of our players had bigger salaries then anyone in Liverpool.

Who is going to take that dead wood? Suarez is on what, 10? 11M? Busquets? Pique? Rakitic? Vidal? Rakitic will be only one leaving as he will take big pay cut, others wont.

I think we actually have to sell Messi at this point or there will be no rebuild. If Messi stays, we will not be buying anyone and obviously if we cannot sell guys who earn too much then we are basically fucked because amigos will be staying, not through their own fault funnily.enough.

nobody seemed to have mentioned reports from BBC (Simon Stone) and UK that Man City has no intention of including Jesus, Silva or Mahrez.

Only Garcia, and Angelino available.

Fuck Man City, Guardiola and Messi

Its just not that simple and it would be arrogant for anyone of us to assume how the case would play out. Maybe you are right, maybe not. I wont pretend to know how a court would decide.

Bartomeu knows damn well he isn't winning this battle. He's just doing this to save face. He can just say that he did everything in his power to stop Messi from leaving. If it goes to the courts, Messi will win..... or they'll come to an agreement between the player and the club.

If anything, Messi is gone more than ever.

I honestly don't want Bartomeu to win this battle. The guy is a piece of shit. He's the reason we're in this mess in the first place.

Do people think Messi is an alpha or something?

Guess people missed his fake retirement.

He's being ungrateful by asking to leave imo. Barcelona gave him everything.
Yup, Barca gave him 3 years of UCL humiliation. 2 midtable coaches and spent Neymar money to buy 3 bums. Meanwhile Barca with Messi won 34 trophies in 15 years. Barca before Messi won 64 in 100+ years.

This is why people should not be angry at Messi. He's earned his right to move. He's been carrying this Barcelona team for years.

But Bartomeu doesn't care about all that shit. He wants to keep earning the big money whilst Messi is still here.

We gave him 3 years of CL humiliations? Did he not play in those games?

Come on.
