This is where Messi and his supporters are in the wrong to a degree, because while the board is the first responsible, the veterans have a lot of blame for the current state of things as well.

It's a failure on multiple levels by all the major parts involved. Board, managers, main players.

I would say I support Messi to a degree and I've always held the position (as the poll on here recently reflected) that the board are the instigators of the institutional decline. The main players were enabled and now they're beyond saving because they've held too much power for too long over these last 3-4-5 years. But as you see with Barto's continued handling of the situation, even when there is a financially lucrative option for the club (selling Messi for 100-150 M and freeing up his 100 M wages, not to mention lift weight off the manager without the amigos), he won't pursue it because he cares solely about his perception and his interests.

Barto created the amigos because he wanted to keep selling the 2008-2015 glory days to our fans. And the amigos are power drunk and beyond saving as result.
