We can't even rebuild because all attention has been given to Messi now. The consequences of this are massive. Koeman is probably sitting in his house twiddling his thumbs because he has no clue which players he will have and not have next season. Imagine Messi leaves and Suarez is still here? The locker room atmosphere would be very weird, Suarez would probably get in arguments with Koeman blaming Messi's departure on him. Also, I'm sure other players are waiting for Messi's decision to decide if they want to stay here too. All in all, our rebuild is going to shit with this taking so long.
Our team is essentially built around Messi, and lots of people are forgetting that. our tactical setup completely changes if he's gone. I'm sure Koeman wasn't expecting this. A 3rd or 4th standing in LL is entirely possible next season
As long as Koeman is fully in charge I trust him. Even if he won't be a great manager, he has the personality traits to make the tough calls needed in early stages of rebuild.
I can't wait for the new season to begin. But if I see both Suarez and Messi starting again, and walking off the ball moving so little, I'm gonna lose my enthusiasm pretty fast. .
We can make an exception for Messi in some cases (with the introduction of new things, like resting him in matches and subbing him when matches are at our discretion). Not for both.
