Lionel Messi - v7

This makes no sense. If there isn't any release clause for 2020/2021, but contract lasts until 2021, then it means he can't leave for any sum without the club's consent.

He can go to court and ask a judge to set a price based on his contract length and market value which right now is almost guaranteed to be lower than 100m IMO.

By the time that is resolved, the transfer window closes. We all know how courts work....

Another baseless assumption. There have been enough precedents (Hazard, Ronaldo).

No, if this is true, it means that he can get ICT from FiFA to transfer while the case is in the court. If at the end Messi was judged he is in the wrong. His new club will probably only need to pay his estimated current market value not 700m like before.

SER | We have seen Lionel Messi's contract, and we confirm he can leave for free. The value of the termination of the contract is 700 million, imposed in the 2019-2020 season only. After that he can leave for free.

Makes no sense. Did someone send SER a fake?

Bartomeu (September 2019): ?Messi has a four year contract that we signed two years ago, and in the last year of his contract, the 2020/21 season, he has the option to leave Bar?a before the season starts.?

?It?s the personal decision of the player; to leave football, or to go play where they want. Other players had this clause as well, like Andres Iniesta, Xavi, and Puyol, when they had their final renewals.?

?These players deserve the freedom to make these decisions because they have earned the right to decide their future and to decide when they want to stop playing football, but I know that Leo's a huge cul?, and I hope he?ll stay at Bar?a for many more years.?

It seems Barto doesn't want to lose Messi at any cost, despite Leo's head being already out of Barca.

Grow up. Both sides. Negotiate and get it done ASAP.
