❗Bartomeu told Jorge Messi that Bar?a insist on offering Leo a contract renewal proposal, and that the club will never negotiate a sale. [md]

Wow stunning hard man stance by Barto.

He's not going anywhere folks

And yet Messi will still not turn up for training. What is the point of offering a new contract when he knows he's going to refuse?

If the transfer window closes and Leo is still at the club, what is he going to do? Waste a season of his career?

Messi will return to training on October 6th.

Barto masterclass. :bartomeu:

Or they'll take it to the courts. But most likely they'll reach an agreement on a set fee with Man City, which suits all parties.

Going to court makes no sense as it would never be resolved in a timeframe that would allow him to make the transfer before the window closes. He'd 100% be better off just playing this season and going to City next year on a free and avoid the litigation mess with Barca. It's a terrible look on both parties.

Also the fact that Jorge Messi is trying to 'negotiate' his exit (despite Messi indicating he is free to leave) with Barto is indication that they know a lawsuit would ruin everything.

Messi needs to tell City to make an offer and he also needs to tell Barca that if they don't negotiate his transfer this window then he is leaving on a free in 9 months.

It's the only way it's going to work out for all 3 parties.

"My son doesn't want to stay here. His Barcelona Career is over": these were the words used by Jorge Messi today. He was unmoved in his stance. [tyc sports]

Now, assuming both Messi and Suarez leaves, and considering the market for good attacking players looks terrible, who is going to score goals next season?
Griezmann is a decent shout, but who else?

That s what i keep asking and no one is answering me.Ok,they are old and lazy and shit, but combined they score 40-50 goals a season. With who are we gonna replace those goals? We don t have money for the big guns and there isn't value at all in the market.Messi should stay, sulking or not,he's still one of the best in the world.Suarez will leave probably, but if it would have been me,i would keep him as a super sub.A forward,a midfielder and a centre back(preferably young) would be needed, but i don t see who ll come.

If Leo sticks around for another season and declines at the same rate he did last campaign doubt City are going to be in for him again at age 34.

New board will desperately want to keep him and will offer the same astronomical wages he is on now for a few more years. Good chance he extends in that case.

It's reasonable that Barto won't sell him. Who wants to be the president knows for selling Messi?
Who wants to be a president who went to court with Lionel Messi? Not many.

In any case, I want this to go to court. It would be fitting end to this board mandate in Barcelona.
