Yeah, now Bartomeu is leaking news to Argentinian media, makes sense.

All the news from TyCSports are coming from Messi camp.

it was clear from the get go that he doesn't want to stay. submitting a transfer request and not showing up to training it's enough evidence that he'll leave no matter what.

He will leave, but not for free. He is worth at least 100m, and Barcelona can't afford to lose that much money. City will have to negotiate.

Better for Barca that it goes to court than letting him leave for free.

Still think whole "going to court" threat over date of the free release clause is a bluff to expedite negotiations. There is no scenario in which Leo leaves the club this summer for free and reckon Jorge and the Messi clan know that. Most they can have done legally is get a reasonable transfer price set, not leave for free. It is not June anymore and nothing about the "end of season" seems to be specified in the contract, just a specific date that has passed.

Not quite, depends on what the contract says. This might get ugly and go to court. Question is, would Messi sit outside next season in order to go to a court battle? Barto is a big kunt, and he won’t be very nice

I don't think City can afford a transfer fee + his wages though

It is a standoff now.

City wont negotiate as contradicts Messi position that he has left club and could damage potential future court case or decision on fee.

It is going to end up in court or club bending and releasing him for free cant see how any deal with City takes place.

 I’m sure they can. Not a crazy fee, but something like 80 mil + 2 players they can definitely do. What does Barto want though? If it’s something crazy like 250-300 then ya they can’t

Unless City/Messi agree that he is still a Barca player then negotiations seem impossible.

It is Messi leaves for free or it goes to court. Possibly both happen and court case happens after he has left.

Don't think City are under any illusions they can get him for free. Most reliable sources say they are prepared to pay anywhere between 100-150 million along with a few players.
