Lionel Messi - v7

Not quite, depends on what the contract says. This might get ugly and go to court. Question is, would Messi sit outside next season in order to go to a court battle? Barto is a big kunt, and he won’t be very nice

don't think he would sit out a season. bartomeu will budge in the end. messi at 33 wouldn't be affected by the circus of him not showing up to training. but barcelona has much more to lose.

we'll get something around 100M or garcia+angelino+a bag of chips.

man city are waiting for him anyway. he'll get his mega deal, while bartomeu will look like an idiot.

Don't think City are under any illusions they can get him for free. Most reliable sources say they are prepared to pay anywhere between 100-150 million along with a few players.

Most sources are now saying they can only take him for free.

Even then City cant negotiate without that contradicting the idea that Messi has already left the club.

Cant see City being interested in negotiating at all as things stand.

That s what i keep asking and no one is answering me.Ok,they are old and lazy and shit, but combined they score 40-50 goals a season. With who are we gonna replace those goals? We don t have money for the big guns and there isn't value at all in the market.Messi should stay, sulking or not,he's still one of the best in the world.Suarez will leave probably, but if it would have been me,i would keep him as a super sub.A forward,a midfielder and a centre back(preferably young) would be needed, but i don t see who ll come.

Right now, it is going to be the 300m+ spent on the four forwards Griezmann, Coutinho, Dembele, Trincao + Ansu. That is what we are looking at unless we can somehow muster money to sign someone like Depay or Dembele.

So we are banking on:-
a) A better collective effort with no stars. Ie - team, which we have lacked
b) Somehow for atleast one of Coutinho/Dembele/Griezmann to turn good which is a long shot.
c) Ansu to step up.

That idea mostly seems to be being floated out by Catalan and Argentine media, especially MD. Most of what I've read from the English side seem to confirm City are willing and able to pay a sizable transfer fee.

We'll see what happens. None of it will matter if Bartomeu doesn't open the door entertain any sort of negotiations. Right now he is the one holding things up. No idea what City will do yet unless given the opportunity.

Problem is - per reports, neither side is negotiating. Bartomeu does not want to let him go, and Messi wants to leave for free. The logical compromise would be to agree on a negotiated transfer. But then we hear City will only take Messi at no transfer cost. How to resolve ?

It's a stalemate folks World war 1 type shit

Just dont see how City can negotiate with Messi claiming to be out of contract.

If it is left for FIFA to agree a fee how can Messi/City argue he was out of contract when were negotiating for transfer?

Fits with them wanting him for free.

Messi is seriously doing everything he can to became less likable to Barca fans! Why the fuck didn't he come to the meeting? Sending your dad to sort things between you and the club of your life is just wrong on so many levels! Maybe he can't understand that Barca is not Bartomeu but the club with one of the richest histories and a huge fan base.

His dad is his agent.

His dad is his agent.

Yeah I know, but if he wanted out he could have communicated that directly himself. He is acting like an ass. A captain of the club who hasn't said a word since that 8-2 debacle. I don't care if he is the GOAT and a club legend, it's just not the right way.

While I hate Barto's guts, this is a recipe for disaster concerning Messi's legacy, not to mention the rest of his career. Watch him not train with the team for months if he cannot get to leave, already at 33 years of age
