Lionel Messi - v7

Are we definitely sure that it is Messi dad and not Jordi Vinyals pretending to be Messi dad? I mean, I wouldn't put it past Bartomeu to pull that one off.

While I hate Barto's guts, this is a recipe for disaster concerning Messi's legacy, not to mention the rest of his career. Watch him not train with the team for months if he cannot get to leave, already at 33 years of age

That's bullocks. If there won't be any agreement, he'll come back to the training ground. He WILL definitely stay another season.

I think in the end all parties involved might agree on a 80-100 mil transfer.

Afford his wages? Sure, no problem with some shady marketing contract with Etihad Airways or something similar.
Transfer fee? I doubt they can pay a high fee like 100M due to FFP. Koulibaly is gonna be expensive.

Zzz it's like the Neymar return saga.

Everyone was sure Neymar woukd return sky sports Italy confirming the deal with tier 1 source.

Only for talks to breakdown and Neymar stayed.

Same thing will happen this time folks

Let's hope so...I was just mentioning the absolute worst case scenario, which I hope to God, isn't the outcome

With every day that passes and Messi is still a member, there is higher chance that he will stay. If City was interested and had the money to afford him, the transfer would have been done and dusted.
It's all just a power game between Messi and Barto.

I truly hate Bartomeu and in my eyes Messi is the indisputable GOAT, no one is even close. That being said, I am truly discussed with his behavior. His football legacy won't be damaged by this. However, he will be remembered as a selfish person who cares only about himself and couldn't care less about the supporters who loved him to death. If he wanted to go he could have communicated that before the end of season and no one would even said a word. This is one of the ugliest farewells I have ever seen in the world of sport and it's completely his fault.

I don't get why he had to tell before the season ended. Maybe for him the Bayern game was the final nail in the coffin. Besides, with the way how very leaky the board is, rumours of Messi leaving could have been very bad for the team morale while they are fighting for trophies.

Just look how Xavi and Iniesta communicated their departure. He could have learned something from them. I sincerely believe that 8-2 was a smaller problem for him than conversation with Koeman and showing door to Suarez. A team captain can not ignore supporters after 8-2 loss and he hasn't said a word since than. However we look at this he is not acting like a club legend or team captain.

Messi is very introverted compared to Xavi and Iniesta. Who know what he's thinking and how long he's wanted to go out. Talking to Koeman and seeing Suarez get disrespected could've ticked him off, and at this point he doesn't even care if he leaves on a free and on bad terms.

Personally, I believe the best time for him to leave would've been after Anfield. He gave his all and the team still fell short. They still kept Valverde after that. Even Arsenal would've fired their coach after a shitshow like that.

Iniesta is hardly an extrovert. Not convinced that is an excuse for Messi

Loan him to City for 1 year

Someone said this a few pages back and I honestly think this might be the best solution for everyone involved. We get him off our wage for the year. Messi gets a break from Barca and this board.
We get a new board next summer, Messi comes back and finishes off his career with Xavi is coach.

How beautiful does that sound??
