They are shocked the same way we fans are. I'm sure all of them believed he'll stay like it was reported over and over again. I don't think anyone apart from Leo himself, his closest people and some board members knew what was going on. Maybe Madrid neglecting LaLiga's plans with CVC was the plot twist that changed everything and made it a mission impossible to register him.

I think Laporta was relying on this deal and the terms of it were so terrible he couldn't accept it. Maybe he relied on this also to register Depay, Aguero, Emerson and Garcia. If we can't register them we will literally become a joke club to any potential players.

From what I understand that CVC deal was horrible and there is a reason Serie A and Bundesliga rejected it. A one time money injection while also losing 10 percent of La Liga rights while being tied to them for 40 years , doesn't get worse than that.

It's an awful deal. Who knows how much you could end up losing?
