What happened in the last 6 years?

He miserably failed at PSG with a stacked team in the Uber Eats League and FINALLY found the "right team" and "right coach" for his National Team. Don't even try to deny this coz it was you lot that was waxing lyrical about Messi finally getting a competitive and balanced National team.

Messi did decently in the Ligue 1, especially in the 2nd season for a team and the board favoring to Mbappe.

It's in the CL that he disappointed, but mostly due to a combination of bad luck, injuries and bad planning.

Last 6 years a reference to CR and Madrid no? Seems it's just as easy to win the title without him.
That was part of it as well. For all the talk of "Mr. CL", RM have reached 2 semis and won 2 CLs in the years after him, and with a lot of the core (Modric, Kroos, Benz etc etc) being out of their prime and new players.

Meanwhile, CR7 managed QF, and then a hat-trick of R of 16 eliminations to Lyon (lol), Porto (lol), and AM.

The data is pretty clear that it was RM who helped CR7 in CL and not the other way around.

In last 6 years:

- "Mr. CL" is not needed for RM to dominate CL
- Messi led his team to World Cup Glory with 10 G+A campaign and golden ball
- CR7 flopped for 5th WC in a row

The desperation is so telling that the trolls (Rassvet) are reaching for "Mr. CL inspired this new generation of RM CL winners - unreal influence!" coping.

Future Prediction: Fati will be triggered and respond to this within 5-10 mins.

If Messi played under the great leadership of Papa Perez, he would have won 10 CLs by now.
Also, Florentino is the true architect of RM's CL success.

Managers: ZZ or Carlo...doesn't really matter too much
Players: So many different players

Only one constant - Florentino

How? Good signings and good referee payments!
