CVC: Clubs ceded away roughly 9% of their TV rights for the next 50 years, AND they will have to repay the money they got from CVC. So essentially a loan. No early buy-back options reported.

Levers: We sold 25% of our TV rights for the next 25 years, we don't need to repay the money Six Street gave us. Reportedly there are early buy-back options.

Either way, you don't do CVC or levers JUST TO SIGN MESSI. Laporta pulled some shenanigans and Messi is rightfully bitter and upset with Laporta, but at the end of the day Laporta did the right thing to not extend with Messi.

That Laporta campaign manager said it perfectly: Messi made Barca much bigger and we will forever be grateful to him. But Barca existed before Messi and we were quite big.
