Now I'll sound like a hater, but it must be said. Winning another CL would be nice, but wouldn't alter his legacy much nor change the public's opinion (at least of the folks who prefer Maradona, Pele or CR). The WC is whole new discussion, though.

People thought the same about Brady in 2013 and he's piled on record after record since then and made even the haters (including me) admit he's GOAT.

In tennis, due to Novak shattering all records, people don't call Federer THE GOAT much anymore. Sure there's still his fanbase (but even they are shaky in making the claim these days), but I meant the overall tennis community.

Big trophies matter a lot and the narrative of Messi winning PSG their 1st CL would be immense. As would CR7 winning United another CL.

Agree, both didnt win a cl for many years now and adding a cl to the end of their career's would boost their legacy. A world cup would make the legacy to explode.

He accomplished everything he needed to. He doesn't owe anyone anything. And if he wants to live and play like his mentor post-Barca Ronaldinho in his twilight years, then he's allowed to.

Yeah. Let him do to that.Honestly, who would give a fuck playing for QSG anyway? Easy money and that's it. A nothing team.

Federer is still the GOAT. He has the trophies and the class too, can't be said that about Nadal and Djokovic. Actually , Federer is the Messi of tennis.

Novak will probably end up with 25-ish slams and all the meaningful records (YE #1, Master's titles, GS, # weeks at # 1 etc.). Considering tennis is an individual sport, I doubt Federer will be THE TOP. He will always be among the GOATs though, that I agree.

Class is a subjective measure, by the way. GOAT isn't about class. Pele or Maradona before Messi were hardly the epitome of class. And to be honest, neither are Messi or CR7.

Still hoping for the major miracle that someone else gets the US open this year, but that's probably not going to happen.
