 No, people are laughing because Messi performing or not performing in MLS at 36 is a moot point for him and his career/legacy.

Nice shifting of the goalposts. I never said anything about his time in MLS being important legacy wise.

Meh game if he was a normal player, very underwhelming for Leo?s standards (at least up until July 2021). He chooses the easy option 9/10 times and the one time he doesnt, he usually misplace a pass or has a bad touch. Been very average for such a long time now that I feel this is it. This is the decline. Cant dribble anymore and barely gets to a goalscoring opportunity within 90 minutes. It doesnt help that the team is chaos of course, but still he shouldnt be this bad. Easy to say now but shouldve gone to Serie A. Ligue 1 is to physical and with lots of fast defenders, this doesnt suit Messi that has lost all his pace and acceleration.

EDIT: everyone declines, no shame in that. Just hurts to see him this lost for such a huge stretch of games.

He would have done better in any other league. Still can't believe how physical and fast Ligue 1 is. You don't have time on ball at all. Either you make the pass fast or lose the ball.

Then what role is it serving?

Are we not judging him on if he can win another CL or a WC?

You're quick to bring up things like MLS in each conversation and then default to "but I never said it was important legacy wise".

Spanish League is probably the slowest league in the top-5 leagues right now, maybe Italy there too.

Potentially Spanish league is the slowest.

The pace/tempo of the game is slow.

You were mocking Ligue 1 like you now mock Bundesliga until the last few months

Ligue 1 is still a garbage league. But it's clear that Messi and his teammates need to get on the same page. And start being more professional.

The lack of professionalism at that club is 90% of the reason why they kept getting clowned in CL.

If people watch the NBA, they're like the Clippers of the last 2 seasons.

Ive never watched a Ligue 1 game before this season. Compared to Liga, Serie A, and even PL, there sure is a lot of physical, fast, young african players. This doesnt suit Leo at all at this point in his career. Also noticed they arent afraid to go in hard on him, compared to how it was in La Liga.

We laughed at neymar when he has gone to that league and destroyed it in 17/18. Time to take our L.

Despite the dominance of Bayern, the Bundesliga is also very fast paced. End-to-end stuff, where defending is not a priority lol.

I can't believe we have gotten to the point where Barca-fans are actually considering Ligue 1 being tougher than PL, even if they try to limit to "physicality" or whatever.

No, Ligue 1 is not better, or even on the same level as PL, in any way, shape or form, the end.

Yes, PSG is disjointed and doesn't really play to Messi's strength, but come on, lets be real here.
