I keep receiving information from Qatar that the Emir and his entourage are beginning to lose patience with Mauricio Pochettino. They don't like how PSG plays, their locker room management and the poor performance they get from Lionel Messi who they see misplaced.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out CR7 was benefitting from all time great teammates during the 13-18 RM era, just like Messi benefitted from all time great teammates from the 08-15 era. This is not to say they weren't the best players (and in some seasons by far the best) on those teams, but ain't nobody winning a CL in the modern era on their own.

Determining who is the better player based off trophies and trophies alone is a bit flawed for that reason. Trophies are a major metric but not the only metric.

also i remember last year the argument was that messi simply needed better teammates to shine, that it wasnt his fault he was surrounded by clowns.

well, psg is a CL finalist and semi finalist in the last couple of years and it is certainly a good, strong squad. at any rate, much better than barcelona

OG, you've already been wrong about the Copa America and Ballon D'Or (undeserved or not, he did win it).

I would pump the brakes on celebrating so soon. Come May, might look like another silly take.

So far Messi fans are 2-0 over CR7 fans this year.

you are right about that, but i can only comment on what i see before me. the same could be said of xavi--lets wait until May--but that is no reason to leave the Xavi thread unused until then. Well: same here. it may turn out well for him, or it may not; so far, it hasnt, and it is fair to comment on it
