Neymar quickly comforted Messi in the locker room after the match. Leo is aware that he could have done much more during the match. (RMC Sport)

He's been a bit too lackadaisical for my liking in terms of his preparation for the CL KO ties.

Problem is things always came a bit easy for him given his natural talent, but he needs to realize most of that is gone with age and attrition, and put in as much effort as possible.

He definitely woke up a little more after the pen miss.

Reminded me of tissue-Messi when he was became angry after marcelo hit him with his arm in his face. To get the best out of Messi? Make him angry :coffee:

It's tru. He was way more active after penalty miss. It's cool to romanticize about your favourite player going super saiyan when he gets put down, but in reality I prefer a player to always produce the necessary drive which should be part of your job being an athlete.

city meets EL level teams most of the time in first 2 rounds of CL KOs. of course they spank them.

what i'm trying to say is that all the teams that had good/great results in CL over the past 2 decades had some legendary forwards.

man utd - ronaldo, rooney, tevez
ac milan - shevchenko, inzaghi, kaka, crespo
barcelona - ronaldinho, eto'o, messi, neymar, suarez
bayern - ribery, robben, lewandowski
real - raul, ronaldo, benzema

I wouldn't say all those players are legendary tier, but they are all definitely world class tier

Liverpool is better than PSG and even though in PL i would rate city over Pool in cl the reds are stronger imo.

I would rate City above everyone else but Bayern is close second. IMHO the top teams in this year CL are:

1. City
2. Bayern
3. Chelsea and Liverpool
4. PSG

On a good day PSG can beat all of them but on a bad day I don't think they stand a chance against City or Bayern. Problem with PSG is that you never know which version will come out on the field that day. They had more bad than good games this season in general. Another problem is that I don't see them playing as a team like City or Bayern. It's more like watching 11 strong individuals which don't connect all that well.

Bayern doesn't look that convincing lately, especially against better teams. PSG is a different gravy.

Apart from City who can control any team on their day, but might fuck it up in a one off game, the rest of those 4 contenders are pretty equal to me.
