Xavi and Iniesta moved to retirement leagues at around 33-34, no?

Messi will be 35 after the WC, that's a pretty good retirement age.

Let's be honest. Even the fitness freak and legacy obsessed CR7 hasn't been dominant in the CL since 18/19...which was 4 years ago when he was 33. Football is a different sport to basketball or NFL. Once the legs go, it's over.

You're welcome
Good for him, he has nothing left to prove.

Don't think Messi plays to prove himself. Imagine you have a big love for the game and you have been playing all your life, people be cheering for you in those huge stadiums. That is not easy to give up.

at this point in his career i think he is more a figure--a source of inspiration and confidence--rather than a contributor

He is still definitely a contributor aginst the weaker and semi decent teams. Whether he is still a contributor against the better teams who have better defenses and don't allow Argentina to control possession as well is a different proposition though. Even more so 8 months from now.

Not really. If you are on a team where the manger puts a player in a position where they can literally stand around in most minutes and provide good passes. Think Pirlo or Ronaldinho playing for Atletico Mineiro

Tebas right about the Madrid spy

Ferran Reverter, former Bar?a CEO, received an offer from Florentino P?rez to be the general director of the Super League. However, Reverter rejected the proposal.

Xavi was here for our 2015 CL win. He was 35.
