Seems to have a lively game. But we have to be fair it is Lorient. Sorry Messi.

he scored after I watched 10 mins during Barca break.

all it takes is for me to be arsed enough to watch at least a half for Messi to score at least twice.

I will be the saviour of Messi's time at PSG.

Now, i do believe Messi was the best attacking player in la liga last season, but even so, Barcelona may well finish at a higher position on the table in their first season without him.

He was the best attacker in terms of numbers but he also contributed very little off the ball and the whole team was built around him. In terms of positive influence on a team, Benzema has probably been better than Messi since (Valverde left) the start of 2020.

Many things are different now. Shit, many things are different from what they were at the start of the season. Messi had to come on the pitch in games to save the likes of Griezmann, Braithwate and Dembele not being able to score. Koeman on the bench, enough said.

Truth. Messis numbers inflated by playing every ball through him. Hide his weaknesses for sure(stats).

Be interesting to see how he fairs next season with an increased burden on him to be the main man. The little good he has done this season has come mostly from Mbappe's influence and presence.

But one thing makes me curious, how Xavi would play Messi this season if he was still here? Would we look this good as a team? Would Messi look good?

Xavi would definitely play him but soon he would have grown dissatisfied with his off the ball work and both would slightly fall out.

But Xavi would have to persist with him because Messi has way too much power at the club.

But Barcelona is Messi's comfort zone and he would fare way better than he is doing at PSG.

As a team you'd still look good but not this much of a team since every other ball will still have to go through Messi. Plus it might have hindered some of the new gems like Auba and Adama from the winter market.

Barca would still finish top 4 and Messi would have had like 20 goals 12 assists in all competitions.

As if Xavi doesn't know who Messi is and how he plays. He'll have a 'revelation' now and suddenly realize that Messi doesn't press much.

Xavi is not a barcaforum troll, mate.

ofcourse he'll know. But when you see it affecting games under your coaching first hand, it's a bit different.

He doesn't need to be a Barcaforum troll or wannabe expert for that.

Xavi will have to tweak his current system to fit Messi in. It would be a bit different.

But the results wouldn't be that different atleast at the level Barca have been this season.

Not even worth debating. Xavi played with him, has seen him in training and games, seen him on TV over the last years. It's no secret to anyone that Messi doesn't press much.

If Xavi really wants Messi and Messi really wants back, then they'll think of something. But since Laporta is here Messi won't come back to beg the lying cunt.
