True. A few people were saying that a good chunk of the fans here are more Messi fans than Barca, but how can you not love the best player of all time, let alone your club's GOAT? We see how much we're suffering without him, and there's only a handful of players right now that can make the difference like he does. And we can't afford them.

It's funny we went out in the CL group stage twice in a row without him. Before that we got through twenty times in a row. Of course the team was better overall too.

We also came 3rd with Messi in the team, so it's not like him leaving is the main problem.

It is a structural issue and complete lack of modernisation on part of the club. We are hanging onto the past and still trying to recreate it with budget Barca 'DNA' managers like Xavi.

Muller and Beckenbauer had each other, which made multiple honors easier  But the others are basically 1 of each

Rivaldo was CL winner as a bench player in Milan, Kaka is a world cup winner as a bench player in Brazil too. They weren't stars or even starters in those teams.
Muller would have never won Ballon d'or if Pele was eligible too

There's no doubt that the only players in history that are remotely comparable to Messi are Pele and Maradona. The list ends there. And Messi has inarguably the best trophy cabinet. Hell according to France Football's Ballon D'Or reevaluation, Maradona should have won only 2.

Messi has inarguably the best trophy cabinet ever. Has won the WC, the Copa America,3 CLs and at least 8 LLs as the main man.
Is inarguably among the top 3 talents ever.
Has inarguably a top 3 peak ever.
Has a longevity only matched by CR (arguably thanks to the advances of modern sport medicine).
Is inarguably among the top 5 scorers ever, with an argument for #1.
Is inarguably among the very best dribblers ever as well as among the best passers ever, including midfielders.

We need to get past Messi and that generation. We had a cheat code for almost 2 decades. Now it's back to normal and we need to slowly get better with much more wise decisions than we are currently taking.

Kaka, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo also had each other for 2002 WC. :D

Yes, and if we actually go back and see some of the games.. their performances (except for moments) are in a different league to what Messi did through the tournament for the whole games. Their is little comparison. Rivaldo for example had a shot on goal turned to goal from a bad save in the final and was really bad the rest of the game. As was Ronaldinho. Ronaldo had terrible misses the whole tournament. We tend to romanticize past glories.
