Rabiot is a smokescreen for the real midfielder we will be targeting.
As some said yesterday, then why was Monchi so surprised...
Why Bordeaux asked Roma to post a tweet how it is over?
Why his mom flew to Rome?
Ok, we were probably in contacts with Malcom, but these tweets now sound as if:
1. we never wanted Willian at all
2. we wanted Malcom all the time. And we were working on his transfer for full 40 days, lol.
3. this is all planned
While in reality, imo, it was probably like this:
1. we wanted Willian as a target no1. We were negotiating with Chelsea and Willian all the time.
2. we made contacts with Malcom and 2-3 other wingers as a plan B during that time, since we learned a lesson with Coutinho and Dembele saga last summer.
3. we cooled our interests for Malcom and other wingers and went "all in" for Willian in the last 10 days
4. when Roma started to close down on Malcom and when we didn't have time anymore, we made a 2-3 desperate last minute too-high offers for Willian.
5. when even desperate 75M bids were rejected, we turned to Malcom in the last moments, revived our interest from 10 days ago and signed him
One more time, imo, these tweets now sounds wrong and fake.
If Willian was a smokescreen, if we didn't want Willian at all, if Malcom was "our main wish from the day 1", why have we let him to agree terms with Roma, to arrange a medical at Roma, why Roma and Bordeaux announced a deal, why was his mom in Roma already, why was Malcom ready to enter a plain for Roma (and Roma's fans were waiting at the airport), why was Monchi so surprised?
Imo, MD is lying all the time and saving board's asses.
Whenever we sign a player, they will write: Arthur/Malcom/anyone had offers from all other big clubs, but they rejected all of them and wanted to play only for Barca.
A player was always our 1st choice and all other players were just a smokescreen.
When we are selling a player, MD will pump his price with fake interest from 10s of different EPL clubs.
In the end, not that it matters now, but Malcom probably wasn't our first choice, and these are news to please the fans and to make it look how the board is pulling the right moves all the time.
Again, not that buying Malcom is good/bad move, it is irrelevant now. But these stories are fake and full of lies, imo.
