Malcom

180m is oddly low after the neymar saga.

Then the price for Hazard is only 200m which madrid is not paying.

180m for Malcom could be safe.

He hasn't even played yet and we're worrying if someone will pay 180 mill for him. In 2 years we might be begging teams to pay 30 million for him.

Yeah the Neymar deal screwed a lot up but still 180 Million is still a lot of money.

I seriously doubt PSG would trigger his clause anyway. If Malcom shows he's the real deal as in World Class potential during his time here we will give him a better deal here but right now it's fine.

He reminds me of Alexis Sanchez when he played for Udinese in terms of attributes and style of play.
I loved Alexis, but I understood he wasn't the player for Barca.

I'm sure Malcon was one of the better options out there, but Atleti signed Gelson Martin's who's 23 years old, and would have been even a better signing than Malcom for the right wing.

If Alexis didn't work, it's b.c he lacked in the technique department.
He had good speed and good ball driving ability with space, but as soon as a team parked the bus and he couldn't tell on his speed, he was not very useful.
I hope I'm wrong, but Barca need to start prioritizing technique and skill over super speed.

Gelson Martin's has both, and he went to Atletico for free.

Martins is two years older. Have you watched him enough? When I watched him I got the impression that he is a pacy winger who needs lots of space on counters and not someone who is good against parked buses.

I disagree completely. Martins couldn't even get off the bench for Portugal who were desperate for an attacking impetus at the World Cup. To me he's just like Schurrle/Cuadrado.

Malcom is a technical player. He's got low centre of gravity, close control, is very creative and has a very high ceiling overall. By the time he's Martins age, he'll be another monster.

Alexis can't even beat a cone 1v1

I have.
While it is true he's not as good when he doesn't have that much space, alot of players aren't.
Even Messi isn't as good with less space, but there are some players who totally fall apart in that environment while some are able to still thrive.
In order to thrive in thight spaces, you must posses very good technique.
Gelson Martis has good technique.
From what I've seen from malcom, he seems to be lacking in that department. I hope I'm wrong, but it deff deefs like another Alexis Sanchez.

Tend to agree about Martins. Nothing special, really. Frightening speed but that's about it. These Portuguese players get overrated for nothing.

He'd make a great deal as a free transfer, though.

Atletico Madrid will have to settle for a fee though, so not free at all.

But despite having been available all summer, and with plenty of big guns desperate for a right winger (Man Utd, Roma, ourselves, Chelsea if Willian/Hazard left) only Atletico decided to take - a late - punt on him.

I'd agree. I don't see him as anything special. I'd for one much rather have Dembele and Malcom, who are better and younger.

He was available only for about a month.
There were a lot of rumours about where he could end up,but he did accept atletis offer.
It's not like other players have rejected big club offers like Barca's offer for teams like Atletico before ..
