Otamendi was dying to move to us who was the best cb in La liga last year but we didn't buy him. With LvG its about the system and not the individual players. Mane might offer something pedro doesn't that van gaal wants for example...

Otamendi wasn't dying to move to United. Anyhow, this is the same LVG that insulted and ran off Rivaldo from Barca before he won the UCL with AC Milan the very next season, never mind his handling of Di Maria, DDG, and Valdes. I don't know that I'd trust his handling of players too much tbh.

He's pretty good but I don't see him fitting into LVG's system because his key asset is his ability on the counter..

Ramos was extremely unlikely target and the only reason we went after him was to show madrid we can mess with them too but other two were reported like it was done deal so the press are going with the narrative of how Crazy LVG is for changing his mind and not signing them...

I couldn't believe it at first, I managed to convinced myself it was that young German lad (17yo who bagged that wonderful goal v Real Madrid in the CL), but no, it's the Southampton guy. Good player but not United level I don't think. But he is a far better player than the guy he replaced, the useless Lallana.

They don't look like a top club imo and that's what you're aiming for after spending 250m over two summers. They're closer to Liverpool than Chelsea and City, and leagues away from Barca, Bayern, and Real.
