Amorim would be the cream. Would be smart of United to try and get him before City is available in a year or two.

Have to wonder how he does if not in the perfect environment with Hugo Viana.

Also, Porkchop Xavi is still available right? Conceicao would be an interesting move too.

Why would anyone even join manure? Manchester is a shithole, you don't want to live or have your family there.

And Sporting is unbeaten in 10 or so games. Pretty sure there will be better openings too.

This reminds me of the ten Hag appointment. Up and coming promising manager with a solid recruitment team behind him joining a mess of a club with no identity.

Amorim should wait for City and follow Viana if he values his career, United is a poisoned chalice.
The amazing thing about Ten Hag is he was up and coming, but was already 52 when he went to United, lol. He was a late bloomer and I am not sure what he was doing between 2002 and 2012.

United are probably the second (or at worst third) highest profile club in the world where you'll make a load of money and have a chance at being the hero who brought the glory days back. Also, none of the millionaires at City or United actually live in Manchester, they all live in mansions in Cheshire.

Assistant at Bayern right?

The Flick before Flick.
Did he not become assistant there post 2012?

I am sure there is a gap between his playing career ending and him getting into coaching. Maybe he was getting his badges and studying the game.

Admittedly I might have my timelines wrong, though.

Just looked on wikipedia (yes, I know...)

'Following his retirement, Ten Hag took on a coaching role at Twente's academy, initially overseeing the U17 team, followed by the U19 team until 2006, when he was promoted to assistant manager. He worked under Fred Rutten and later Steve McClaren until 2009. He then joined PSV, working as an assistant under Rutten once more.[5]'
