Okay lemme temper your expectations here.

This is not some sort of masterpiece. It's just a fun breezy watch and a feel-good movie. It's just a simple, refreshing flick carried by a stellar cast and Kate's sex appeal.
Yeah I figured it wasn't a masterpiece as it's not well-known (not that that means something is good), and Kate isn't known for being in amazing films (lol).

But yeah, it looks a fun and easy watch. If it's a rom-com that puts me off but worth watching for her.

Me and Horatio are the masters of thriller/mystery genre suggestions. Horatio also has great horror movie suggestions tbf.

The weird thing with that is that women don't generally know much about facial structure, but it's all those things that they find attractive without realising. If you ask a woman what a philtrum, ramus, canthal tilt or gonial angle are, most will have no clue. But they look at them without knowing what they are. They know mainstream stuff like jawline, eye colour, hair.

Sometimes I think it's overplayed though. I mean look at Gosling - he's very mid but some women still fancy him despite him breaking so many rules about what is attractive or not in a male face. Sometimes it's just about looking at a face in its totality and seeing if you like it or not - even if the cheekbones aren't high or the jawline isn't great.
Damn - I don’t even know what those words mean.

I agree with you, but I’ll add a couple of points here, for women in different cultures have different preferences. But here’s my take.

Women are oftentimes monolith, but only within their own country/culture. For example, features that may be perceived as average in one country are above average in foreign cultures where those features are rarer: skin tone, eye color, height, et cetera. Tall, dark, and handsome goes a long way in Scandinavia. That same guy won’t be nearly as popular in Brazil, for his features do not stand out. Many men look identical to him.

That’s why I do not buy into this whole jawline spiel. A man can have the most desirable jawline yet be unattractive; the opposite is also true. It’s the whole package that matters. Personally I think men are more into male jawlines than women are.

I believe Zac Efron has enhanced his jawline cosmetically. I don’t think he looks any better now than before. What do you think?

Not saying that it doesn’t matter, especially if a man’s jawline is recessed, but I don’t see many men with recessed jawlines tbh.

Time to do some 😸-ing.

Yeah I know a lot of horrors and stuff.

Between 7 May 2021 and 27 July 2024 I watched 521 films (not unique, some rewatches here and there). Some people watch more than that but it's still a lot more than the average person.

Film is my biggest passion after football (excluding family and friends, obviously).

Yeah I agree with everything, especially the stuff about if you look a different phenotype in a certain country you will stand out and be considered unusual and attractive or desirable.

I think Zac Efron looks awful now, ruined his looks. Michael B Jordan on the other hand is probably good looking and has a recessed chin and jaw (though I have heard some women say he is ugly, too).

The overall point is that - yes - women are more drawn to the whole package, not just looks, but charisma, how a guy carries himself, how funny he is. It really does matter even if it sounds blue pilled. Men on the other hand look at a face and body and hair and think that is all that matters, even if the guy has the personality of a prune and looks creepy in general.

You are absolutely right that a guy can have a great jawline and be average looking or unattractive. Ronaldo is one example in my opinion (though he is quite chinless in a way). It's about the full package - not just looks.

Mewing lol. Too lazy to do that myself.

Also, the reason is that perfection doesn't exist. Say a guy with a weak jawline had a great jawline - he'd still mostly look like him, he wouldn't be too unrecognisable. He'd be better looking with the excellent jawline, but it doesn't make him ugly to have a mediocre one.

Equally, if the guy with the amazing jawline had a weak jawline he'd still have much the same face and if he's ugly with a weak jawline he won't be that great with a strong one either.

It's more about the overall look of the face - imperfections make it look different to an extent, but even if those imperfections were fixed, the guy wouldn't look THAT different.

@Temptation Are you taking notes? 😂

I agree with you. I believe the science on mewing has been disputed.
