I would be interested to see some stats of that. At offensive set pieces I definitely think Bartra has a much better header goal rate than Pique. He is a real threat at set pieces IMO.

Bartra is still on top, also if you choose by 90min played.

Also, this link is for liga, choose CL by 90min played and you'll see the HUGE gap in global score, duels won, etc etc ..

Oops ! Clearly the difference in terms of key passes indicate that Mathieu played against much more organized, thus stronger teams

So what if he plays many easier games. He is still usually one of the best players in those games and better than the players who play more regularly.

Malaga for us is considered ''easy''. We all saw how that went.

Has he really? I just looked at the stats, and all the stats I've seen have Bartra coming out on top in headers won.

He also seem to score more often on corners.

I am not saying Pique has been bad or anything, not at all, he has improved alot. I also think it is important to take into consideration that Bartra is often better than Pique in the games both have played (not always, but quite often)

No I meant compared to himself in his previous 2-3 seasons, Pique has been a monster in the air. For example the games against Atleti.

I'm not necessarily saying that Bartra < Pique in the air, because I'm not sure about that.

I think basically, with Bartra-Pique partnership, we have two real threats at set pieces. Both have goals in them. Most teams have CBs who are threats at set pieces and so should we have IMO. It is one way where we can score against teams who park the bus and nothing else works.

Bartra hasnt scored this season and the past few months Pique been very dominant in the air against the top teams.

No way has Batra been better in the air this season.
