Because Sergi Gomez is younger than Muniesa and will continue to play for the B team, instead of Muniesa who wants to play for the first team (not possible).
He should play for a liga team like Getafe, Espanyol, Valladolid (etc) to progress.

Both from 1992. Sergi Gómez only 5/6 months younger. Same age for me.

Point is that both don't have a future at the club. Especially Sergi Gómez his level is shocking this season.. would sell them both this summer. But looks like Sergi Gómez will stay at Barca B and Muniesa will be loaned out. Two wrong decisions imo.

What? As i pointed out before they are 1 day apart born in march the same year.
You're correct. My Dutch wikipedia stated July for Sergi Gómez, but he's also from March.

However, it's only more in favor of my statement. Both lack quality for Barca and Muniesa > Sergi Gómez.

Yea I agree wwith all that. It was a response to the guy that said Gomez was younger. Technically its true but its not a factor when its one day lol

Muniesa: "Mi futuro es incierto. Me gustaría seguir, pero no me dicen nada"

I can understand that Tito doesn't want him anymore, but I find it worying that they don't even talk to Muniesa, Abidal or VV. Or that when asked about a part of the staff that will leave with Pep, Freixa acts like he doesn't know anything(even though a lot of people at the club have contracts that end at 30 June this year) and Tito says that it's good that new people will come. Not to mention that Marti Perarnau wrote that there are a lot of strange things happening at La Masia, things that don't make sense and good people that are leaving. Maybe i'm overreacting, but these things make me sad.

very very irretating that a big club like barca hasent talked with his players about their future... same here with abi... they need to make thinks quicker and open so those players can better find a new club.. same with jds .... no good sign for a club like barca as if they dont know what to do because all other transfers are uncertain to this point...

B defender Marc Muniesa (21), whose contract expires, is close to joining Real Sociedad. Ajax and Nurnberg are also interested. [md]

Barça won't renew his contract. I hope he finds a good team. Sociedad would be great.

This just makes no sense, I'm sure he would've wanted to sign a contract extension if the board had put in a little effort.
He could've been vital for Barcelona B and he could've been used as an additional back-up for the first team (by using him as that back-up and by buying another CB, Bartra would've been able to get loaned and get some much needed playing time). Also, we now only receive a small compensation, while in a few years time, he'll certainly worth something.
