You are crazy. Barça last season was alot worse without iniesta. I don't understand why you think Roberto is better. Do you even watch games? Iniesta is even a regular starter for the national team where the competition in the midfield is alot tougher.

Never said Roberto is better. Iniesta just isn't capable of starting anymore. There's a reason he's leaving after this season and it's not because he doesn't like Messi's beard.

Alright, lets assume that he is not just extending his contract, and really wants to move to Barca (we don't know that yet, we are assuming it based on mediareports, lol).

Why do people think he would come this summer? Modric gave Tottenham a transfer-request in 2011, and what did the club do? They rejected it, but sold him for bigger price next year.
Now, we are dealing with a club even more famous for not selling their players. Therefore it would be wise to think that would have to wait at least that same period of time as Modric did, and that would mean he could come here next summer, the earliest. Would people be as excited about that scenario?

Iniesta is well past his best and his legs are not what they used to be.

Dont agree the team were much worse without him and even if true it is more and indictment of the other midfielders than anything.

Iniesta does still start for national team and for that national team last euros against better teams looks past his best as he does with Barca.

A team that will build to cope with his lack of legs these days will still get a very good player but Barca already protect Messi lack of defending and with Iniesta it is too much to cope with.

Man this is pathetic:lol: Those news guys need to earn somehow attention and money. So they spread these kind of news because they make the most of it. There is no way this will happen.... But somehow some here believe it and it will hit you like a rock. Move on guys to someone who is available.

Didnt barto say that we wont buy anyone special this time? because of lack of money....?? I would be confused if this somehow still happens because we need so much more than a midfielder and with him it would cost us almost 200m and maybe more....

this. Verratti this summer keeping MSN as the front 3, next year Messi can move to CAM hes already the best playmaker in the world. Dembele would do well to stay at Dortmund another season leading up to the WC, i'm sure he will wait as he seems set on joining Barca, were lucky hes a barca fan aswell. we MUST get a deal in place with Dortmund before the WC though or his price will skyrocket.

I trust Nasser. Nobody forced him to do smtg. Qataris are stubborn.

Plus, Barca doesn't have the money. If Pogba costs 110 M€, i can't imagine the price of Verratti.

Trust Nasser to do what? Keep a player who has publicly stated his desire to leave against his will and force him to stay at a club he wants out of?

You realize that this will only sever the relationship between PSG and Veratti even more and make the relations worse right?

So if Nasser forces him to stay next season, does the manager play a player who clearly does not want to be there. How about the other midfielders at the club, what sort of message do you think it sends to them if Nasser is responsible for them starting on the bench while a non-committed Veratti plays ahead of them?

The only thing Nasser can do is flash more cash in Veratti's face and pray that he takes it. But by the look of his recent actions and his agent's words, it's not going to work.

I agree with that. However, with smart planning and good management he could have at least one top season in him. If not two. A good place to start is not play him in every game.

He hasnt really had a top season in years for me. Even the treble season was all about MSN and the defence than midfield.

Didnt play anywhere near to every game last season and still looked like legs were long past what used to be when called upon for the most part.

Only way he has a great season in my opinion is used less and others to cover for his legs going which wont happen with Messi there.

Only problem is... he has not stated his desire to leave publicly... yet atleast.

No player these days actually holds a press conference and explicitly states that they want to leave their club, but rather have a couple journalists close to them 'leak' it out to the public.
