How do you think that team would work defensively?

It depends on how much effort Neymar and Dembele are able to exert, or how much they want to.

I'd ideally have one conservative FB there tbh, or a more restrained one attacking-wise. Not sure how to put it, but someone in the mould of the role Abidal had as a LB.

That's merely a formation though. How Valverde actually employs a formation and how it does defensively like that depends on his tactics. Could be a 4-2-3-1 on paper, but actually a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-1-2, etc.

That said, it seems like the Verratti saga is over and we're still waiting for Bellerin and his papa.

This transfer window might turn out to be not so pleasant.
