Martin Braithwaite

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
Well, keep him then but don't register him to any competitions. Not sure if it's possible in La Liga, but they can simply not register for CL and such.

He'll come to his senses by January when he is rotting on the stands and have to watch his Danish team mates play in Qatar at home simply because he refused to leave.

I repeat points:
A. His salary would probably be quite a bit less at another club. There are also other aspects such as moving etc, that we know nothing about, that can influence HIS decision.
B. Braithwaite is 31 and if his contract runs out at 32, the club can't really have expected to get a significant transfer fee in return. I think the previous board didn't care at all about what would happen long term though.
C. A move would probably benefit all parties but the player, he has all the right to look out for himself primarily for the remaining couple of years of his career.

Douchy is to sign a contract with someone and then expect the other part to go out of his way for you not to fulfill the contract when things change.
If FC Barcelona does not want to pay him what is rightfully his in the way they agreed, then they should try and negotiate a termination of the contract. It is douchy to bring morality into the business equation, especially when it is "the club" doing it vs the player.

edit: lol, his contract runs to 2024, I just read. So it should be priority for Barcelona to get rid of him, but it is not the player who should be charitable here, he can stay and play football to the best of his limited ability for the length of his contract without anyone having the right to criticize him, if he wants to.

Typical Bobo BS

A. His Saudi Arabia club Salary will be MORE
he is also very rich before even playing football. So cut all the moralizing crap about him being "father of two" and all that

B. The board only cares to get him off the wage bill, not about the transfer fee.
But this douche is refusing even the letter of freedom

Douchy is refusing to cooperate when you know that
1) There has been elections, new administration, new salary structure, and a new coach since November
2) The new coach has EXPLICITLY told you you are not in his plans, and you never gonna play a minute. You haven't also played all the months he has been in charge
3) The club has told you that they need you off their wage bill, and that they don't count on you.

DOUCHY is to want to remain at Barca not for the money, but for the prestige of being a Barca player and living in Barcelona, irrespective of the harm you inflict on the club, the team, and the coach. While you can go get more money in Saudi Arabia, if that's what concerns you

That's what DOUCHY is...

He is within his right to reject the contract termination and to also ask for his remaining two years of pay.

The issue comes if he rejects transfer offers. Can Barcelona not register him for LaLiga? Technically yes, but does anyone remember when Barcelona signed Eto'o that one of the reasons it could happen is because Real Madrid could not register him for LaLiga (too many nonEU spots taken) and would be in breach of some sort of law. So in the end had to sell him.

Anyways, all these average Joe's on big contracts. Let it be a lesson never to be repeated, and one to be taught at MBA Masters around the world under the Module: Bartomeu Cuntface.

Registration of new signings is not a problem

There are outgoings in Mingueza, Puig, (even Neto, Umtiti and Memphis can happen)
players like Collado, Balde, Abde who will all be loaned out

So there will be enough space to register 25 players including the new signings.

Problem is that the club and the coach do not want anyone who is not part of the team staying and getting paid by the club to do fuck all.
While refusing all possible transfers elsewhere
It sends the wrong message.
He needs to go.

Termination of contract NOW

It needs to be repeated, but the report about it is about his paternal uncle company which Martin invested his football money in it. The whole worth of the company is 250m but we don't know much of it his.

Don't know if Saudi club will pay more than Barca, taxes there is obviously less of an issue.

tbf to him, it doesn't serve him well to go there, would you move out of Barcelona to Jeddah for same income? Would it increase his chances of playing with NT?

Honestly the main question is whether or not he would accept a move in Europe while getting paid a portion of his salary from us.
We would never get his full salary of the books.

Going to Saudi Arabia should theoretically be better than staying in the stands because you don't make the match sheet.

Does Bartomeu has a travel agency by any chance? Man is a gold mine for tourists.

"Experience the best Barcelona have to offer, from sunny beaches, to perfect climate, to friendly people. Visit to Camp Nou included as a FC Barcelona professional football player with payment and bonuses covered for 4 years".

When you intend to be a football player, there are solutions.
Pjanic agreed to forgo a big part of his 21/22 salary to be able to play football somewhere.
If Braithwate cared to play football in Europe and stay fit for the World Cup, then a solution would have been found since May
If, on the other hand, he cared only for money, he would have been off to Saudi Arabia already by now

Then, there is obviously something else,
It seems that he doesn't care if he is a football player or not.
It's more what Serghei says -> he wants to keep living in Barcelona enjoy the life of the city, the climate, the beaches, and enjoying the fake prestige of being a Barcelona player, even when in fact he will not be

Or he is extremely bitter because he was once playing and after the signings he was tossed aside like the average player he is. And this is something like his revenge of some sorts. Although it is of course stupid, since he was never good enough for the club.

Even more staggering when you realize the guy is already a billionaire outside of football. The greediness with this one is unimaginable.

Just goes to show you that all rich people are sociopaths...no matter how much money they've got, they will always want more.

As has been said before, Catalan media often pushes negative stories like this to portray players as being ultra greedy when they aren't doing what the club wants.

As Khaled noted, I don't think Braith is a billionaire or that close to being one either.

Nothing wrong with Braith not wanting to go to Saudi Arabia or refusing to give up money to play elsewhere in europe.

If Barca are offering to cover part of his wages at another European club so he still earns the same amount but he still refuses to leave or he wants to be paid to leave to then join a Saudi team, then that would be a bit savage on Braithwaite's part and the anger towards him would be a bit understandable, but we don't know if that's the case.

A team in Saudi Arabia is offering Braithwaite three times the salary he earns at Bar?a. Braithwaite wants Barcelona to pay him his remaining two years of his contract, terminate his contract and sign for the Saudi Arabian club as a free agent. That's his strategy.
