Martin Braithwaite

It's because the characteristics he has are becoming increasingly important in the modern game. His physicality, pressing and mentality are all excellent. His finishing, attacking instincts and positioning is below average though. What does Griezmann do better than him? Does he finish better? No. Does he have better attacking instincts? I'm yet to see it. Is his positioning any good? Not really. Same with Coutinho.

With a fully fit team our best lineup imo would be Fati-Messi-Dembele behind Braithwaite.

Also is it realistic we sign a player that is a huge improvement over every characterisitc Braithwaite has. Are there better finishers? absolutely loads of them. Do they bring with them the same physicality, pressing and mentality of braithwaite? Not for a lot of money they don't.

The so-called donkey is currently contributing more than the >120m Coutinho, they are so many things wrong with this club right now.

last time i've checked nothing=nothing. so don't know who's better between the two. otherwise, yeah coutinho has that price tag over his head.

anyway, strictly speaking about braithwaite, i would have preferred someone like willian jose over him. even choupo moting would have been better.

This. Well said.

Although I think that dream offense would be too weak defensively

What is this great mentality Braithwaite has?

He is easily shut off in just about every game he plays and does not have the first clue how to play CF in the box.

Mentality as in he has a fighter attitude. Gets up as soon as he's down, etc. You're talking more about his positioning and attacking instincts with 'does not have the first clue how to play CF in the box' which tbf I agree with as stated above.

I think his movement in the box is fine. Gets at the end of plenty of chances. No matter if low crosses near the goal, high crosses to 2nd post or passes behind the defenders.

1 shot v Valencia
1 shot v Sociedad
2 shots v Levante
1 shot v Juventus
1 shot v Cadiz

Aye great movement in the box. There are full backs, CMs and CBs getting more chances in box than that.

Where are all these chances he is getting on end of?

He has no idea how to play in the box and moves a lot and hopes for best.

It's almost as if someone suddenly told him to play as a winger , unless you think someone who came from a relegation team decides where he wants to roam.

Too bad I don't see Jammy showing this same energy in the Griezmann and Coutinho thread who are 6x~ more expensive and worse than Braithwaite. Go twerk some more in the Premier League thread.

So it is tactic that Bratihwaite plays wide so our 4 number 10's have more room in midfield.

Great plan by Cowman

Braithwaite has played a mix of CF and wide the past 5 games. Both have been discussed but when it is claimed he is 'getting plenty of chances' that is false and huge part of being out wide for Barca is getting into box even if he is playing wider.

It was made out he is a threat in game has played wide and at CF when he hasnt been. He cant play CF bar running about a lot.

Relevance is that your argument about shot count is irrelevant in regards to Barca with Messi in it. He is entitled to be on the end of every attack, which means he heroballs every time, 9 of which utterly fail to deliver now days. His passing has sucked too recently, so he doesn't set up is team mates with killer through balls anymore. Lions share of Barca attacks end with Messi fail at pass or fail at shot. Connect the dots.

No it is relevant if folk are claiming he is getting plenty of chances and dont blame Messi when CMs, full backs and other attackers are getting far more chances than Braithwaite.
